I finally got my Ferret50 upper in just in time for Bulletfest. This is the 36 inch version and is a real grin to shoot. I didn't get the scope zero'ed for Bulletfest but it was close enough that I could hit stuff on the berm. There were a few folks at Bulletfest who got to run a round or two through her. Seems like everybody that shot it went away grinning [:)] I learned real quick the hard way not to crowd the scope, I still have a sore spot on my head [BD] I love this thing!

What kind of scope is that?

How's the accuracy?

How's the recoil?

Damn nice looking piece!!!!!!!!!!!

You ought to take an old 20-rnd mag, take the guts out, cut it down so as it just catches the mag release and then paint it flat-black. Would give the mag-well a purposeful look.

The scope is a Swift Optics 8x32x50. Right now the scope isn't zero'd for squat. I think I botched the mounting job. I am taking it back out this afternoon to re-mount the scope.

Recoil is like a very stout 12 guage (maybe a bit more) but isn't as bad as expected.

I plan on using some lead in one of my cheesy 10 round mags to add weight and to make the mag well appear "purposeful".

The locktight in the picture was used on the rings.

The lock tite is for your teeth. If your close when it fires, it will rattle them loose.
I know, I was two spots down from Lumpy at Bulletfest. The compensator creates a substantial shock wave.

I talked to a guy who has 1000 rounds (probably more by now) through his and it hasnt hurt the lower at all.

Ahh, that was your Ferret50. I was lurking around waiting for someone to ask me if I wanted to shoot it. [;)]

I got plenty of 50 time in anyway, I think I shot about 100 rounds through my State Arms. Good luck, I am sorry that we didn't meet but there is always next time!

Talk about a heavy precursor and muzzle blast combo..try shooting 2 feet from FrankSquid and his custom .50 bolt gun. That sucker wasn't so "loud" as it was a "force of nature"...[:)]

Wish I had known that. Heck I was letting anybody with an interest shoot it. Im mad at myself for not taking the time to take Urodoji up on his offer of letting me fire his .50

quietshoez.....Yes, the pictures were taken in Lapeer. How late were you guys there? I got back in town about 2:00 and almost drove out there to see if y'all were still there. I went back out there today but the trip was cut short when my brother stepped on a board and drove a big nail up into his heel(ouch).

we were there til about 3 or so.
it was awesome!!!!!!!!
wish you could have made it. you were right it was a little cramped, and some of us policed out some garbage at the end.
let's try for some time next month?
(edited to ask if you got the pics, and 7point62 and myself were the only ar15.commers, but met some real cool people with some class3 stuff)

Nice Rifle Lumpy. Mine should arrive in a few weeks! I ordered the 29" Stainless Barrel with a 20 MOA rail.

Where did you purchase the scope rings from? They look like Badger Ord.

Edit:Ohh yeah, how did the trigger modification go?

Naked80....I ordered the Badger rings through SWFA. Everyone said they had the best price going at the time.

Installing the hammer and removing the disconnector wasn't bad. I had never had any of the trigger group apart before then. i just looked at the info in the articles section off of the main page here at AR15.com.

The toughest part was when I went to remove the stock take down pins. I didn't realize that the detent pins were loaded with springs that would launch the pins like missles when they were removed. I am still looking for one of the detent pins and spring.
