I've never been there. But I have had some of their pics e-mailed to me and from what I've heard these were some mild pics. And they were pretty rude.

I guess I've never had the intrest to check them out.

But yea, some or most "death pictures" should probably not be available to any/everyone.

With all the porn and gunsites, you guys are lookin' at dead babies and sh*t. That's pretty f*cked up.

Desensitization through exposure to such things would be beneficial especially during time of conflict.

maybe but if you read the latest shotgun news. they said this very exposure shown over and over with greater detail will dehumanize people to the point where things such as school shooting will have no effect on people. i guess turning us more into robots then humans with feelings & morals

I dunno NYShooter, maybe it is better if people ARE desensitized...when they aren't they just seem to be bleating for more gun control.

Ask any paramedic from a big city or cop or mortician.  It doesn't dehumanize you, you just get used to it.  

I worked for a funeral home/ambulance co. back in the late 70's, retreiving bodies that had autopsies performed on them, some would want miscarriages interned, retreiving a mother and her 3 year old daughter, still clutched in her arms after a house fire....you got used to it.   The hard part was trying not to let tears well up when you see the mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers totally lose it after they're already in the casket.

RIK & HALF: the day that you are use to the stuff you talk about. is the day your the walking dead. nobody can see that all day & remain in a zombie state.

people are morbid in general. and the more you show them, the more they get used to it & want to see even more sicker stuff for a new shock value.

peoples anger over school shootings & terrorist attacks is fine. because they are showing thier human side. the problems is they direct their rage at the wrong things (such as firearms). instead of the root causes like no enough love/time/care from kids parents. adults not leading by example ect.

I mean I have a pretty good sense of civilian armament awareness but semi-automatic high powered assault-rifles are just purely for killing humans and should be outlawed along with corvairs.

I disagree on the "desensitizing" effect I view porn at a geometric rate and titties still excite me.

sex is a happy feeling. don't think your mind numbs to it like watching people die everyday.i'm no expert just think you mind shuts down after view horror stuff all time. it's the minds way of keeping you from going crazy. but to say i can watch death all day long & it don't bother you is bullshit. your body has to have a release for it.

It's not a zombie state.

With out the soul the body is just an empty husk.  Has vertualy the same chemical composition as the dozens of dead deer I see on the highway.  It no longer feels any pain or suffering.

The living that loved them are the ones suffering.

HALF: i might have worded it wrong. i was trying to express that medics & cops cannot stay in a zombie state. where they our zoned out to horror they see. no matter how hard they try to hold back thier feelings, no one can do it forever. there needs to be a release for the good of their mental health.

I was waiting for the inevitable cross refrence to be drawn between gun control/banning dead baby pics, so here is why you are wrong.

1) Unless you agree with child pornography, there is a hypocracy in saying that people should be allowed to see dead babies for entertainment, but not sex with children for amusement.
Laws against kiddie porn is meant to protect people who can't speak for themselves when they are being exploited by a bad adult.

The same goes for autopsy pics (which I assume these are). I don't wan't some sick mortician taking pictures of my dead grandmother, and posting them there for the world to see.

And b4 you say that those pics are there with the subjects consent, they aren't.
Pennywise's family, and the Nicole Simpson family despratley tried to keep them from public view.

One of the problems with Liberals is that they tasidly approve of this type of thing and call it freedom when actually it's a perversion.(sarcasm on)
If you are excited by mutilated bodies you are in good company (John Wayne Gacy - Jeffery Dalmer). Why not cruise on over to the NAMBLA site and see what's going on there. I mean you can't judge these people, you haven't walked in their shoes.(sarcasm off)
Mutlitated bodys don't bother me, after all only the husk is left , but the pain of their loved ones bothers me. Of coarse some feed off of other peoples pain.
You are free to look at these things but would you set down with your mother and look through these pictures or would you feel ashamed?
 

not saying pics of dead children are ok.  but unlike kiddie porn there is no laws governing them. most pics are taken for medical & legal records, but it only takes a few sick or money greed people to put those said pics to a different even warped use.creating more laws to protect from these types of things brings up one question. " how much freedom do we give up in order for this protection?" think of the whole idea on a much larger scale

You're comparing apples to oranges.  I agree that even photos of a deceased person are the property of that person and deserve protection from exploitation if taken without the decedents permission.  Any sick mortician who would exploit the deceased is guilty of a violation of their right to privacy, hence their civil rights.  But if I leave in my will that I want the procedes from any photos or exploitaion of my dead body to go to my family why would you give a $hit.

Also what about HOLLYWOOD.  They can make some pretty believable special affects.  Is there a difference between viewing something that looks realy gross (in your opinion) and the real thing....if you realy don't know if it's real or not.  Is a nude picture of an 18 year old illegal if they say they are only 16?  What if the photos you're refering to are created with an air brush and props?  Plastic dog turds?

I agree with you that young people deserve protection (I'll go will the accepted 18 years old) because they may not realize the implications of their actions.  But to outlaw inanimate objects because they may get into peoples heads and make them do bad things is exactly the same thing as banning firearms.
