AS a bass player myself I grew up emmulating the style of John Entwistle. That man was PURE talent. He had no stage moves nor facial expression when he played because his fingers did all the magic.
If you have the Who's "face dances" album listen to "The Quiet One" He sings it and the song is about him. He will be missed. [:(] |

i've seen the who twice. john was a talented musician!
the man could walk a bass line like few others! godspeed, john entwhistle! i must play some early "who" at bulletfest. meaty, beaty, big and bouncy! |

sorry he's gone (especially considering the current surplus of no-talent "musicians" on my MTV who really need to meet the business end of a Mack truck.)
Local (San Francisco) rock stations are playing a lot of Who today...marked improvement over their usual rotation. |

I am a bassist also. Although I am more influenced by the style of Donald "Duck" Dunn, John Entwistle was a true talent. My band does a cover of "Substitute"... It won't be quite as much fun now that he is gone. Cheers, Chris |
