I came across this article yesterday-
http://www.cnn.com/2000/TECH/computing/06/13/rand.tech.idg/

I know there are doubtless a few Rand supporters here, but even the more socially conservative of you should be interested in this quote:
[b]
Outside of the business world, Rand is much less revered. Few universities include Rand in their curriculum, but that doesn't hinder her popularity. "Students just love her, but we can excuse 18-year-olds. They get smarter here at Berkeley and outgrow her,"" says Steve Tollefson, a lecturer in UC Berkeley's College Writing Program. "I'm horrified, but not surprised, that it holds an attraction for Internet executives. It's a convenient philosophy for them."

I can't help but wonder what other liberal/ socialist brainwashing this professor believes in. He would probably say no less if it was about students coming to the school interested in firearms. As a former college student who had to keep my opinions to myself in order to succeed in English class (I still barely got a B), I wonder how many UC Berkeley students are forced to pretend to believe differently just to please this guy.

Basically, he says that students come to his school with ideas about free thought and originality, but they soon learn to toe the party line.

Californians: Your tax dollars subsidize this guy!

That's just sad (and yes I'm a Rand follower), to think that our schools are being taught by people who think that you become smarter when you stop thinking for yourself. Guess I'm glad I didn't go to a "college" (I'm currently working to save money for a CCNA course).

had to move this back up - can't help but think more people would want to read this blatant admittance of a liberal agenda in at least on Berkeley professor.
