In my teen years, guilty of that on a tube, a runner sled and old car hoods..
Although I never did it in traffic, we stuck to country roads on snow days. |
When people tell me they don't like guns and would never own one, I think about this kind of thing and just let it go.
totally stupid... A guy I know killed his daughter doing that kind of bullshit.
maybe in the middle of a frozen lake with no other vehicles around...on a road with vehicles and power poles, NFW...

That was dumb as hell. I kept waiting for him to fly face-first into an oncoming car.
Nuts. Stupid. And yet... I had a big smile on my face as I watched that.

future darwin award winner right there.... +1 You don't live long doing something like that - but at least the helmet increases your chances of a slow and painful death. |
When I was a kid growing up in southern Florida, used to do that on the sand roads on a sled made out of 2x4s and sheet metal.
So many things could have gone wrong...........................and they didn't
Fucking rad but that's a good way to end up as a hood ornament with that oncoming traffic.
We did come crazy crap using a conveyor belt but never at those speeds. Was all fun and games until a guy broke his ankle side swiping a car. We had one guy who slide off just in time and he went feet first uder a car and got stuck under the axle, laugh our butts off over that one, you had to be there to comprehend the scene.

The velocity of a body remains constant unless the body is acted upon by an external force.
Bet the guy they passed at around the 2 minute mark had a big WTF moment as they blew by, LOL.
Crazy stunt on open roads at highway speeds with on-coming traffic.
Only a matter of time before Darwin claims another one. With them driving on a two way road like that.
Let alone the tube itself.
HOW IN THE BLUE FUCK did they get ahold of a car capable of doing highway speeds ON SNOW?!?

Behind a 4 wheeler, in a wide open and empty field, sure. I've done it before and would do again. Down the street at speed with oncoming traffic? Fuck that.

Quoted: Same here. We even used and old fiberglass jonboat someone dumped in the woods. In my teen years, guilty of that on a tube, a runner sled and old car hoods.. Although I never did it in traffic, we stuck to country roads on snow days. Cabin fever makes you do stupid stuff.

At least he has a good chance of dying doing something he loved.

I was going to say so what I have done it. Then I noticed the cars going by...

Did something similar back in my younger days, except there was no tube just our feet and we held on to the back bumper of the car. down a main street we'd get to 40-45mph.

Quoted: Real men do it while standing up. I broke my thumb while standing on a car hood being pulled behind a car. That was the last time I went sledding behind a vehicle. Darwin wasn't quick enough. |
What was on the underside of that tube to make it withstand the abrasive road surface? There were tire tracks on the pavement that werent snow covered.
A catastrophic tube deflation at speed would not end well. That looks fun, but causing an oncoming car to wreck trying to avoid him would not be cool. |
