for real. Not just a trail ride with worn out horses.

went to summer camp a couple of times where we took care of the horses and rode almost daily. I wouldn't subject any horse to my current mass.

I sure thought so once. She looked great at closing time, the morning after she was definitely one of the trail ride worn out ones.
I've been on a trail ride. Had to watch the horse in front of me shit for a mile or so through the woods.
I have. It's fun, although I'm not particularly good at it. I won't shell out for one of my own though.

It's been a few years but, I have. You need to assert who's leading who or else that animal will just do whatever it wants. But what an awesome feeling when going at full gallop through a field or such, just don't hold onto the saddle horn with your free hand or you'll look like a rube

I own horses. Started learning to ride when I was 4, and I've been riding ever since.

"Inky" cured me of my interest in horses back in '83.
Transportation should not come with a mind of its own. |
we had a Red Roan, a filly from BLM land. she was a good horsey |
Multiple times. Nothing like a full run race through open meadows.

I have! Here's me on Shorty riding on the Deep Well ranch in AZ. http://www.pbase.com/terry_56/image/55491911.jpg I miss AZ...but not for LONG! |

Dad owned a couple of pinto's.
Aunt has always had a few on the ranch that we rode. |

We used to have 5 Gaited American Saddlebred Horses, and I rode mine all the time. His name was Checkers, and he had the smoothest "racking" gait of any horse I ever rode.

We owned horses for close to 20years. Went riding just about every weekend. I had a half AQH, half Belgian for a long time. She was a great horse. She passed from old age. I still miss Red.

Grew up on a ranch where riding was a every day thing. Also helped on all the family friends ranches. Moving cows, checking cows and all the other fun stuff that comes with working cows. I hate horse cause of the countless hours I have spent on and around them. So ya I guess you could say I have spent some time on them.

Quite a bit actually. My grandfather kept horses for the grandkids to ride and I did 1-2 times a month from age 5-6 till I was in my teens. I honestly wish I had the room for horses for my kids.

Sure, with liquor and girls, even. Horseback riding is fun. But I prefer a quad or a bike. Shoveling carbon monoxide is much easier than shoveling horse shit.

On top of a mountain in Montana running with a herd of elk- it was awesome and I'm not even a horse guy
Grew up around the stupid things.
There is no more ornery creature on earth. They live to bite you, kick you, buck you into mud, step on you and shit on you. I used to feed my cousin's horse with a 2x4 in my hand to beat it with when the bastard tried to attack me. |
Grew up with them. Rode a barrel racer that my dad bought the most. Fun horse
Damn near every day from about age 7 till probably 17.
Less and less as I get older. Haven't been on one in years now. Still have 11 I think. They're pets. |
Own a sorrel mare and am convinced they should be a tax deduction just like kids.
I ride on occasion. Don't own any myself but my family has quite a few.
Longest I've had to spend on one was last year when I had to do a film shoot that required me to spend a couple of days on horse back. The production put me on Boogie, a horse that hadn't been ridden in a couple of years. Longest two days off life and me and Boogie are now mortal enemies. |
Rode a lot when I was young. Pushed a few cows for some friends that ran 1 man ranches.
I've ridden on three continents! Childhood friend lives in England, rode with her when I was over there for a visit. And I ride on the F-N-L's Ranches in Colombia everytime I visit there. Plus we took a Saddle tour once high in the Andes. Beautiful high desert. |
