Man to stand trial for shooting neighbors pet chicken

On the morning of Sept. 1, Keys said, she and Kitzmiller heard
gunshots, ran outside and saw Savage standing on his back porch
with a gun and one of her chickens on Savage's property near a tree
line.

Keys said she saw Savage fire the gun in the direction of the
tree line and then saw her chicken fall to the ground and flop
around.

Keys testified that when she called 911 and Ohioville police
responded, an officer told her the police had told Savage to shoot
the chickens if they were on his property. No officers from
Ohioville were called to testify at the hearing.

Keys said her chickens were not typically kept in a coop, but
she had never been told by Savage or the police that the chickens
were a problem. Keys said the chickens are pets, and her children
had named some of them.

Can't really say without more evidence. If my neighbor had 500 free range chickens shitting all over my yard, deck, house, ect.. They might get shot too.

If he had previously contacted police on how to resolve the matter and they told him shoot them, then there's way mroe to this story than 1 chicken pecking around in his grass.

You don't pay tens of thousands in personal property taxes, a mortgage, and maintain a home to have someone's farm animals on your property. Not to mention the racket the bird may have been making. Although I would of broken out the Gamo and a cracked open window screen to take care of that little shitbag from a chair inside the house.

The only thing I can see being a problem depends of firearms discharge laws where he lives and whether or not it was actually on his property.
