I was shopping for calendars today and saw that they were selling one for Buffy.

Well, good for them! To be able to have enough profit year after year to justify another calendar for a show that ended 9 years ago in 2003.

Didn't buy it, though; bought my last Buffy calendar for 2010 and that year, month by month, was somewhat of a strain, Buffy wise.

So what did I buy? Cats, dogs, otters, sea life, a few girlie calendars.

You know, ballet, Xena, things like that............they haven't been making a Xena calendar year after year, just so you know.

My 10 year old son LOVES Buffy..  Yes, I realize it is probably soft core porn for him..
I like to look at the clothes and remember when that stuff was cool..

The closest thing I got to a tactical calendar, aside from the Xena that is, is the Boris and the Luis Royo fantasy ones.

In Texas, we usually have a seasonal store pop up in the Malls. Previous years, it was "Calendar Club"; this year, a store about calendars, games, little stuffed animals. Previous years, there have been kiosks down on the floor as well, but I didn't see any today.

But.......just found a mail order link.

Oh, you mean like the group pictures with the very short skirts?

SIGH! Just when I thought my calendar shopping was over and that I might put the brakes on this addiction, you go off and show me a site where I can get more!

As a friend once said about this addiction, "The passing of the days must be very special at your home."

If only we would have had Firefly to take Buffy's place.. Perhaps the years would not have been cold and desolate.

What's really sad is that in the Fall of '02, Joss Whedon had 3 different shows running on 3 different networks.

Two years later...nothing.

I take you mean Angel (WB), Firefly (FOX), and Buffy (UPN)?

Well, in a sense, he really didn't have Buffy. Turning the creative control of Buffy to another was a disaster in my view. The nerd season made the show unwatchable, hateful to the viewer.

But at the end of the season, we got rid of them, there was hope that we could get back to what we had before in seasons before.....and then in the opening episodes of the last season, the nerds came back.

I taped the final season but I've never watched it. The change of creative control killed the show for me.

The final season wasn't too bad..

I did like when the vamp diagnosed Buffy as having a superiority complex, but having an inferiority complex about it.

What are you hate to breaking to me?

I said I bought the Xena calendar. I just said they haven't been making them year after year (as oppose to Butty). Or, at least, they having been selling them year after year in my region.

Well, you see, that was the problem. The new creative person took out the supernatural and replaced it with the drama of normal life and that's not "the Buffy I grew up with".

I don't like seeing the characters that I've come to love destroyed. That's why I taped over "Superstar" the same night it was shown.

The creative person explained that things like that happen in real life, that you have to get a job, repair things, deal with real bad people............but that's not why I'm watching the show.

As far as the psychology of the above....EH! It's not uncommon in reality to find a person suffering from multiple syndromes.

Perhaps. At any rate, I have the entire series on DVD so if I want to, I can go there. I just really don't feel like watching the tearing down of a character that I love the way they did when it went to UPN.

I had a 2009 tactical calendar with babes holding guns, it didn't do much for me probably because the poses were phony and the guns were too clean none were soking.   I have a GSD calendar and that is good for reminding me that I need to be home around noon to let the dog out before she shits on the carpet.

I havent seen a BTVS calendar in years, even though I have the full series on DVD I've never finished it.  Somehow I get busy with work and forget about it for a month and forget the story line-starting over is must.  Maybe I should buy a second series of disc's so I can have copies of originals when the first set is worn out from playing.

Working on Hunter TV series now though. I have over 1000 movies on disc, even more of TV series.

Maybe I need to get a BTVS calendar, wonder who carries them that is local
