Underworlds on now with the full auto Beretta's and it got me wondering with a lot of these guns is it hollywood special effects or can they be made fairly reliable?

Don't know about the Beretta, but a Glock 18 is a fun little shooter.

Goes through ammo real fast though.

One of my "if I hit the lottery" guns is a Beretta 93r.

I've put almost 1000 rounds over the course of a few months through a FA converted Glock 19 (used the 18 selector) and it jammed maybe once or twice.

why would you think reliability would suffer vs the semi-auto version? The extended mags would be the only issue i can think of..

I guess we'll have to get a post 93R now to test the myth.

I would think they would have too much dispersion to be effective in the real world outside of knife ranges???

They are all badly in need of a rate reducer.

Oh, and Underworld leaves out half of the reload sequences at the rate she goes through ammo.

I want a Beretta 93r.

And a Stechkin.

You can make any semi auto gun shoot full auto reliably. Now hitting your target...that's another story.

The beretta 93r is very real. And runs well. This was the 3-shot burst. It is that fast.

Is that the time you got to meet another arfcom member with The Only transferable titanium 93R?

Yes I approve of this.

I remember several years ago that a member on this site had a green beretta (92R or 93R??)

Put a smile on my face.

I think the Glock is the easiest to convert, the sear that fits on the back is so simple, it just needs to be fitted for timing of the sear trip. Ammo does not last long though. As for controlability that comes with practice, I can keep 32 rounds on a silhouette at 10 yards no problem. Here is a crappy video I made shooting my 17C in the dark with flashy Silver Bear ammo.

I belive you have to put on the stock to make it run FA.  Not sure just remember reading that somewhere.

I wouldn't think they'd be unreliable, select-fire pistols aren't exactly a new thing. Mauser was making select-fire C96s (Schnellfeuer) by the 30's and the Austrians had a select-fire Steyr-Hahn in WWI.

None unless someone in the US converted some non-NFA version that was imported.

Reliable, yes.

Controllable?  Err...

I don't know about reliability, but I've thought that the ultimate in (moderately) concealable personable defense would be a FA race gun in something like .38 Supercomp.

.357 power, extremely accurate and controllable, with 20+ round mags.

I seriously doubt anyone has ever made one, but I like to think it's out there, somewhere.
