I started in the old UBB board back in 1999 where I originated the Dinner Pic threads . When this current set up came about, I was one of the first batch to try it out. I have been a mod at that point. And try it out I did with "Posting without posting" Thread. Goatboy even set up an adults only forum called "The Lodge" ( a strip bar here in Dallas we always took him to when he visited). Yeah that did not last long. Been a mod, a site staff and now back to being just a member again
So many fond memories. Organizing shoots back when I was in CA. Then moving to TX and meeting some great folks, some of whom I am still in contact with to this day. Many have helped me through tough times. Specially TheRedGoat and TxLewis who drove all the way to NOLA to help me evacuate after Hurricane Katrina. Let's not forget that many DFW dinners, shoots and Hun Farm gatherings. Also the two Gunstocks which I helped organize. Thank you Goatboy and the rest of the Avilas for this great forum. Here's to another decade. |

Member of the 10 year club as well...
When I think of all I could have accomplished during my time on ARFCOM, I get depressed. |

Yeah me too. We're one of the few. Survived all the changes and bit our tongues to not type "........." for fear of the COC. Its been a long ride. From the mall ninja to the death of Eric The Hun......we are the originals.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=21LRjYrWzK0#t=95s I remember when ar15.com was nothing but a static web page, and it said to join the mailing list. I thought OK, i'll wait till a forum is up. I wish my thoughts for a username were different on that day |
