After an ex who lied to me about killing my unborn baby, disability due to intestinal bleeding, a kidney stone that shredded my bladder on the way out, a friend of mine dying in her sleep leaving behind her 8 year old girl, my school losing $16k in student loans I was approved for, a car accident, moving to FL to try and start a better life only to lose my job 2 months after moving here, having to sell all of my furniture and most of my possessions to help keep bills current, and dealing with beautiful souls I know who are battling cancer, I can finally say...

...I made it, I am working full time again, my friends' cancers are in check, I have extra money AND GODDAMNIT TOMORROW I AM BUILDING MY FUCKING GUN COLLECTION UP AGAIN.

Even if you're broken, bloody, bruised, beaten...Stand up and keep walking. I'm walkin into a gun store first thing tomorrow and then taking whatever the hell I want/buy right out on to their range.

I am cherishing the "Aw SHIT I wonder what's gonna follow me home" mentality. Then, I'm going to light a cigar, pour a nice scotch and tell 2011 to go suck it.

Yeah, no doubt. Shit is going to pick up, I have nothing left to lose anyway so I may as well just beat some serious ass and march on. Had to sell just about everything. Have a dining room table, computer desk, computers (I work in IT), and I sleep in a damn comfy hammock. I don't give a shit. Rebuild, rebuild, rebuild. Hell, if I wanted I could pick up and go anywhere I wanted. But I kinda like FL gun laws. ;) Sunshine isn't half bad, either!

That was almost earlier this year. I had some -close- calls. Hell, on 11/14 I had decided to return home up north and couch surf. Signed the paperwork to pay a "buy-out" clause and vacate by 11/30. Then, 6:30 that evening I got called about the job I have now, and it's a -serious- IT gig with a hell of a company. I literally had to be completely broken, realize that I loved being here more than I loved myself or anything I had, and then face losing it all. Right before my eyes.

Then, bam.

Just be careful about going down the same road again. As I told a friend who just recently filed for divorce from a horrible creature that used him for all he was worth, be careful who you let in close to you again. Be selective. Family, friends and lovers can do you far more harm, being already inside your guard, than the stranger you keep at arms length.
