It's simple, take out more crap than you brought in.

Even at my gun club, I try to always pick up more brass than I shot, and if someone didn't take their target trash down, I grab it.

...and when I see someone not picking up their brass or leaving their targets, I ask them to do so.

'course, I doubt I'd be hauling out a shot up refrigerator out of the desert. But maybe some shooters could get together and go clean up an arean that's not that bad yet.

Then the next time, go clean up one that's a little worse. First shoot, then clean up, then cook out. Find someone with a huge truck that can haul some stuff.

I remember an AR15.com shoot we had up in North GA one time at a DNR range. Around 1 O'Clock we stopped, cleaned up all the trash on the range, much of which wasn't ours, and broke out the brooms and shovels and cleaned up all the brass we could find. The place was much cleaner when we left than when we got there!

You're only one person, but it's gotta start somewhere or one day you're going to go out for a shoot only to find it off limits to shooter due to all the trash.
