No, seriously, there were 3 bright orange lights in the sky.  They looked like they were still at first.  The biggest one started moving and then faded out.  Then I noticed the other two were gone.

Santa had an IFF glitch which made his sleigh look like a backfire bomber. This caused a few air defense missiles to be temporarily fired in his direction. It appears that the sleighs warning system picked up the launch and Santa diverted the missiles by using a couple of elves as chaff.

Typical stuff, it happens every year.

After burners on the CAP aircraft they had to catch up to Santa so they could engage. Splash one RTB.

I'm kicking myself now for not taking video.  I was trying to get my spotting scope for a better look when I should've grabbed my camera.

About 25 years ago tonight another guy and me were heading home to McCall, Idaho. It was after dark and we had just finished welding up the boom on a log loader up on a logging sale.

Right in front of us and out the windshield, a big assed meteor appeared and stayed visible for what seemed like 15 - 20 seconds...it was growing in size and appeared to be heading in our general direction.....the last few seconds before it disappeared...it made a whistling/rushing sound.

We were both like....

Never heard anything about if it was seen anywhere else....but I have to imagine a ton of people saw it.
