looking for car ideas.

Buicks and other full sized sedans.
If you want to fix one up, something like a 91'-95' Park Ave. would be perfect. Is this a tall thing or a bad back, knees, hips, etc. issue? |
|
Something with leather seats (so you can swivel) and tall doors (so you don't have to duck your head).
Honda Element might work. Midsized pickup trucks might work depending on height; Dakota or Tacoma. |
|
98 4runner was the perfect height for me. Look into the newer 4runners?

My Toyota pickup is stupid easy to get in and out of, my Porsche on the other hand not so much, I had a hard time getting out of it unless I stretched before hand.
|
|
I'm 6'5" and my Honda Pilot is comfortable and easy to get in and out of
|
|
Element is high on my list.
I'm arfkom average 6"0 235. I'm just tired of 'plopping' I to standard 4 door sedans . Feels like I get punched in the kidney every time I get in the car. Also don't want to climb into a car, eg Titan, navigator etc Started bothering me since my hernia surgery... I want ease of ingress and egress :-) |

It took me some time to learn how to work my hip and leg just right because the steering wheel does not raise up very high at all. |
|
Oddly enough....
A lot of older and/or geriatric patients are driving either Kia Souls or Scion xBs. The doors open really wide and are easy for them to get in and out of. mm |

Buddy is 6'8 and 380 or so. He drives and two others in between our sizes and all four fit in it with plenty of comfort for a hour and half drive to gunshow..........High roofline and low door sill just off the height of the floor. Pontiac Vibe wasn't too bad. Aztec easy to get in and out of but ugly as sin though it had all wheel drive option. |

I know you said no minivans, but a Honda Odyssey is my pick.
I can turn and plant my feet without lifting ass off seat. |

The sliding and rear door also have a lazy button to open automatically. With that said, the FIL has owned Caddies and currently owns a tahoe. What are your needs that require ease of entry (KY?). |

Just tired of getting beat uP getting into my car.
Also don't like sitting low. I have an Altima now and granted its higher than my maxima was but not that much. My local dealer -a food friend - said bang for buck I should be looking at the rogue, the escape and the rav4. |

I sold a cobra and vet in 2007 and bought a brand new element. Been enjoying it ever since, you either love them or hate them. Very comfortable car, easy maintence, easy to keep clean. Go seat in one, you will be impressed by how big they're. That's always the first comment people make when they get in my car. |

I like my truck. I climb up into it, and climb out of it. Plus, you sit higher. Not sure i'll ever own anything else.
|
|
I've found more or less any full size pickup to be the easiest. As long as it's not lifted way up or lowered way down you can just sit down normally.

My wife is nearly 8 months pregnant so this is a subject dear to her heart at the moment.
She loves our new suburban with the retractable steps, seems to come down lower than fixed steps and combined with a large door makes getting in and out much easier that our old Jeep JK (too high) or her Jaguar (too low).

Ford Escape and Edge. Both my parents have mobility issues and with the door geometry, electric seat and pedals the Ford won the comfort shootout. Dorky looking vehicle IMO.

|
Most stock 2wd trucks seem to sit low enough to go right into for me. I'm 6' and about 195. You could always get a 4wd truck and attach a handle to grip to get in if it's too high.

Seat in all is about ass high and the tall roofs mean no ducking. J |

One of my parents' friends has a back problem, and they went with a Ford Five Hundred (now Taurus)

Tahoe, Yukon, Acadia, Traverse, most Caddy's....all built with large people in mind for easy ingress/egress.

Hurt my back, buddy drove me to work in his chevy full size, still had to bend my back to get in(5'11, 245), next day friend took me out to dinner in a matrix and no bending at all, was strange.

I have never had any problem getting into or out of any car or truck (except for super jacked up retard mobiles).
I am in good shape though so I don't have an issue. |

My dad has a hard time getting around, but he doesn't have any issues getting into his Tacoma. It's just the right height to be easy to get in and out of.

Previous body style half ton Chevy Tahoe. 99-06 or whatever.
