Would you vote for an atheist for president?

An agnostic?

A Muslim?

How about a Hindu or Buddhist?

I would vote for any spiritual or belief system other than Islam.

I'd vote for a kid named Adolf Hitler if he shared my political views.

An agnostic, yes.  An atheist, probably not.  I find Atheists to be far douchier than religious types.  The kind of people who put a Darwin sticker on the back of their car or complain about Christmas parties in school, etc, etc.  They are pretty much a religion in themselves.  A real douchey one at that.

As long as they dont push their beliefs on anyone, yes.

Dont care what people's religion may be or not be.

Some people here voted for the moslem infesting the White House right now.

Yes I'd vote for an atheist if he was a Constitutional Conservative.

Though I doubt I will ever see the day when an Atheist or a Jew is elected president.

In fact, I would vote for most anyone except an Evangelical.

Honestly, as a Christian, I doubt I would vote for a self proclaimed atheist.

Why, because the fact that person made it known to the world makes me think that we would see the kind of petty shit that pisses me off from time to time. Like Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas, no Christmas lights on city property, and removing religious symbols from public places. And being someone who wears his atheism on his sleeve, it would almost be certain that person was pro choice, pro gay marriage, and pretty much against the social norms I believe in.

Now an agnostic, deist, or someone who doesn't make it part of their campaign what their believes may or may not be:  I could care less.

No, they are based in reality.  I don't care for religion that much.  Including the institution that is Atheism.  I'm sorry you associate with douchers.

I'm not voting on the resting place of his immortal soul, I've voting on whether or not I think he's qualified to lead the country.  The two may not be as closely related as some would have us think.

We had a the first triple murder here in recent memory, nobody could understand how a good Christian boy could kill those people.

Jus ignore the five pages of his rap sheet, the fact he was on parole for assualt, and out on bail for drug trafficking. He was just misunderstood;) that's the saying we hear on the news down her in the South.

That and the tornado sounded like a frieght train right before the trailer flipped on it's side.

Somebody should tell the incarcerated population, because the VAST majority of them believe in God. They may not be properly Christian, but they do believe in a higher supernatural power, when asked. An Atheist isn't just somebody who isn't a Christian, and Atheist is somebody who denies the existence of ANY god, regardless of religion.

Atheists are almost unheard of, in prison. Funny, that.  Ask a random prisoner about his thoughts on God, and it's incredibly likely that he thinks there is one. He might even hate him, but he's still convinced there is one.

Same here.

People need to be free to hold whatever religious views they want, or no religious views at all if that is their choice.

I vote for candidates who are fiscally conservative and pro gun.  A candidate's religion or lack thereof is of no interest to me.

Actually no, it's probably because atheists are better educated and therefore tend to marry later and be less likely to become involved in criminal activities. But religion has no relation to moral behavior.

No offense, but some cites to back those assertions would be nice...

Respectfully, I find that very hard to believe.  People who want to really follow Christ with their actions will live in a way to glorify Him.  There are probably links out there to support your statement but it just doesn't seem correct to me.
