I have a feeling the 45 miles on it weren't "babied" miles.  That may not matter one bit with today's engines though.

ETA:  nevermind, I didn't realize this wasn't a factory ford package.  I figured everyone at the dealership had to go for a joyride.

all the frame bending comes from marketing a factory "stock" truck
as a desert running truck.

if you look around the frame problems are all at a thin spot on the frame where a tube connects both frame rails
the "fix" for it is really nothing more than a fish plate over that one spot.

its funny though that people complain when you take out a stock vehicle and go running through the desert and it doesnt soak up them bumps exactly like
you thought 55+ thousand would get you...

on the fence on who the blame should be put on though.... its all on the owners but ford engineers should be slapped for missing class on the whole frame building 101

Agree, bending around the rear shock mounting frame area. F-250 type frame would have solved the problem.

None of the bent frames I've seen were actually from jumping- all the ones I've seen were from ultra high-speed kickers instead.

Partly true. He'd take parts off of customers cars and sell them, and still charge full price to the customer, plus out of state orders were left on the back burner. One guy waited 1 year+ for modifications that only take a couple of weeks.

google hennessey and viper together
basicly he ripped off a bunch of people for a bunch of money
then moved on to cadillac lol
and now offers his name to ford

not so much a custom shop doing shoddy work
more like a performance shop that started robin hooding only forgot to give to the poor and just pocketed the money.
forgetting the whole ripping off people thing
how did he get his name out enough for people to pay him bunches of money to bolt on some add on power from other companies do some tune work and stitch his name in the seats?
sign me up I can do this and hire a guy to stitch the seats

oops see there is the kicker...( ray charles sees that)
who in their right mind would warranty a truck that somebody went out and did such a thing...

again im not arguing the frame has a issue with what ford marketed the truck as a performance off and on road capable truck is also a issue
but to take out a "stock" truck with some coilovers and go blasting through the dirt thinking it can handle it is stupidity with money.
too bad im just dumb and broke lol

Just some.......

Try reading the actual thread instead of just posting a bunch of links that all reference ONE THREAD.  Those morons overdrove their trucks without pre-running the course.  The ones with problems hit a 12" kicker at top speed.  Even a trophy truck would be damaged by that kind of abuse.  Despite the fact that the damage was clearly due to abuse (the bump stops start taking damage long before the frame), Ford did not void their warranty.  They offered to straighten the bent frames for a nominal $~800 fee.

You're right , of course.

But still , for 75 grand I'd expect alot more performance than mid 13's and a top speed of 110.   And thier only excuse for the top speed of 110 is "Tire-Rated".   C'mon , for 75 grand you cant put a better set of tires on there for me?   WTF?
