I was in desperate need of a new pair of tennis shoes, so I went out last night and bought a pair of Asics to replace the piece of shit Merrel's that I had.

http://asicsamerica.com/footwear/running-shoes/gel-kahana-5-t1e1n-mens/

So I got to wondering what type of shoes that you guys here like.

So what shoes do you wear?

I'm a big fan of Brooks.

Nike and Puma for my athletic shoes. I don't do much running, but they rock if you're on your feet a lot.  Otherwise, I love lounging in a pair of DC moccasins or Globe sneakers.

I also really like Brooks, but I do not like how loud they are, the bright colors bug me.

Usually wear sandals or go barefoot.

I haven't thought the colors were especially bad. My current pair is mainly white with some black and blue.

My other pair is a bit brighter, black and green. The trail shoes are very subdued.

Mocs for around the house and trips to the store.

Low rise hikers for anything outside.

Still on the search for a good pair for work and on my 4th pair.  Gonna be onto the 5th pair as soon as I find a pair that god damn fits and doesn't look horrible.

Inov-8s are great, although my favorite are these:

For other than running I like these:

People make fun of the toe shoes, but they're actually pretty great shoes....

I wear these pretty often too:

I wear Belleville cold weather boots and Ariat Heritage cowboy boots for my daily shoes. For workouts, I wear Nike Shox.

I love those Asics! I just got rid of my last pair of Merrel trail runners I got on clearance about 15 years (yes.....15!) ago for about 20 bucks. Those things were bulletproof! They only made those for a year.

Asics give the best support for me and my family. We all love them and they seem to last.

I wore New Balance for the last 10 years.

Then I wore a pair of Sketchers. It was like walking on clouds. I have two pair now and only use the New Balance as mowing shoes.

I just wear the same pair of Sketchers until they wear out then go to the outlet to buy another pair.

For the gym, I really do like the Asics gel running shoes. I've bought all kinds of running shoes from nike to reebok to new balance in the past. The Asics gles are the only work out shoes that I've tried that keep their cushiony bounce for years.

I am looking for a pair of those.

Going the RolandofGilead route for posting

Running:

Gel Nimbus 12.  I've used the Gel Nimbus series since GN7.  I like 'em a lot.

Working

Magnum Work Horse 6.0.  I'm not impressed with their durability and won't get them again.

Casual

Sketchers Verstal-Villous.  Not the most comfortable boots ever but they look a hell of a lot nicer to wear out than my running shoes or work boots.

Running shoes: Asics, New Balance, Saucony.  Rotate them.

Never did like Nikes much

Brooks ASR's and Cascadias for the trail.  Brooks Ghosts for the road.

Topsiders for every day.

I have close to sixty pair of various athletic shoes at last count.

Everything from Onitsuka Tigers to Reebok Zigs.

Of all those I've been wearing my Nike Free Run2 more than anything else lately.

Doc's for anything remotely dressy.

New Balance for everything else.

For tennis shoes I like the cheaper New Balance trail style shoes.

The nice things about New Balance is I can actually find 2E widths which fit me perfectly.
