We went to the Sunset Hill Range in PA yesterday for Father's Day. My son had never
gone shooting before. He never even had any firearms training before yesterday other than watch me clean, disassemble and reassemble my AR's. He had even been wary of handling any of my AR's. That all changed yesterday. From the moment he slapped in the first 30 round mag into my SP1 and fired his first shot, it was like a fish taking to water. He followed everything that the range instructor and I had told him very well. When all was said and done, he had fired over 1000 rounds. He had also fired my Colt M4, but he preferred the SP1. My wife and I took turns on the M4 and loading magazines. With the 1.5 hour drive back and the long wait for dinner at the restaurant, he was too tired to shower and overslept in the morning and had to run out the door to catch the school bus. Some of his 6th grade classmates noticed the smell of gunpowder on him. He made some new friends. The only thing my wife and I screwed up on is that we forgot to bring a camera.
