Saturday night, I kept hearing something at the garbage can.

Figuring it was a cat or 'coon, I looked out - nothing.

Heard it again - nothing

Figured I wasn't being quick enough, got the SureFire. Heard it again, looked out - nothing.

Went to bed, and I must have gotten up 5 or more times, hearing the same thing, and seeing nothing when I looked out.

The next day, about noon, the neighbors found out a baby possum had fallen/jumped in, looking for food.  The garbage can was pretty much empty, and the little critter couldn't jump high enough to get out.
