It's a FRUIT. It doesn't look like the Apple Computer logo either. Only a MORON would confuse the two. http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2011/10/26/german-family-owned-cafe-battles-apple-over-logo-dispute/?test=faces When is an apple with a cutout silhouette and a leaf on top just, well, an apple? A German family cafe and the American tech giant are trying to sort that out.
The Local Germany reported Wednesday that when Christin Romer opened her cafe in the west German city of Bonn last May she named it Apfelkind (apple baby) after a nearby apple orchard. Then she commissioned a logo, which turned out to be a red apple with a cut-out silhouette of a child in a hat, and liked it so much she had it reprinted on cushions, chairs, cups and even a delivery bike. Fuck Apple. That's not even close to their logo Now that Steve Jobs is gone all the stuffed shirts are running around trying to look like their contribution to the company is vital. More hilarity is sure to follow. |

Just think of all the poor souls who will be duped in to buying a coffee mug thinking it's an iPad.
I hope Apple destroys this woman. |
|
I could understand if this woman's logo looked like the Apple logo but come on, no resemblance other than its an apple.

Apple was also granted a patent today that covers unlocking your device via a gesture. Prepare for the next onslaught of lawsuits.

Apple is bad ass you leave them alone. They are the good guys. Apple hates huge companies that will not hire people.
|
|
If Apple doesn't think consumers can distinguish between the two logos then they should do better marketing.
|
|
In other news:
Apple Sues God. Claims that trees that bear fruit in the likeness of their logo are a copyright infringement and God must immediately cease production of that fruit or face massive litigation. |
|
Shit...the judge should rule for the cafe and fine Apple 10 billion for wasting the court's time.
|
|
The lawyers at Apple are just trying to justify their existence and their large salaries!

There is more to this story I'd bet.
Apple is not stupid. They wouldn't get involved without a reason. There is not enough info in that story to really know what the situation is. If she has a business.. like computer based, or internet cafe, or whatever..there has to be a reason they would get involved, not just on a whim. Apple would not send lawyers after her if she was just a little cafe selling cookies and cake. The only thing she mentions is wanting to sell franchises and my guess is..it has something to do with that. Maybe she's selling franchises for internet cafe's all over europe with her apple logo. In a franchise..logo's mean alot. Who knows? That article doesn't give any real information. But Apple haters go ahead.... |

Link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-15461732 Apple's patent - US patent number 7657549 - states: "A device with a touch-sensitive display may be unlocked via gestures performed on the touch-sensitive display. "The device is unlocked if contact with the display corresponds to a predefined gesture for unlocking the device." and would appear to cover a number of the technologies used by Google and Microsoft in their handheld devices. |

Do I have to pay apple to go buy and eat an apple now too? Apple is idiotic on this one. |

Apple customers are stupid enough to not notice the difference, so I understand the company's concern.

True, Apple customers at that coffee shop might not understand why, halfway through the cup of coffee they just bought, that the store owner is NOT trying to sell them a new cup with a slightly different temperature, claiming is it better then their current cup. |

Apple is the same company who claims to have invented the rectangle, smartphones, touchscreen smartphones, icons, the tablet, etc., etc.

Gotta be fucking kidding me...not even close...are they this bored right now? Maybe they should be working on the next Apple breakthrough instead of harrasing people for no reason.

"The device is unlocked if contact with the display corresponds to a predefined gesture for unlocking the device." Holy shit WTF? People will be along shortly to say since they were issued a patent on it that it Apple has a right to sue anybody that makes such a device/software. I'm not even talking about Apple fans either. |

Isn't there some patent/court rule that you must protect your TM, otherwise your future lawsuits may not be allowed to proceed because you have a history of not protecting your TM ?
