I'm all for shooting, but usually want to see a tangible result.  Shooting water?  Meh.

Still looks like a good time.

I was there today and said the same thing... until I launched a hunk of wood 50FT in the air with my M-14 by shooting under it in the water, made me a believer .

Thanks for taking pictures and video Kevin.

This.  There is other shooting options at the range, yet I always seem to find myself launching blocks of wood into the river and shooting at them.

It's actually my favorite way to sight in an optic too.  Find an object in the water at the desired distance and start shooting at it.  Instant feedback to make adjustments...

Actually, the water is about 15-20 down an embankment, the picture is more then a little deceiving, thing called "perspective." The other side of the river is a good 80 yards + distance. See the bucket here below in red? Yea, full of 2x4 scrap that floats wonderfully in the river and makes for a great target.

We also had actual target stands setup over on the side shooting down along the river....

This is the first ARFCOM shoot I have been able to make.  It was defiantly a blast.

Great to see folks I have not seen in a while and meet others for the first time.

Thanks to those that let me try some of their full auto toys.  Man I gotta itch that's going to be expensive to scratch

Her are a few more vids of the full auto toys

It was definitely awesome, especially when I did it with my Glock Plus you can try to push yourself and your skills once the wood goes downstream a little bit.

Sad I missed it today.  Here's slo-mo video showing my cuz-in-law shooting a tennis ball in the river (I prefer wood disks cut from a fence post or 4x4 but the guys upriver were throwing them in).  It is fun and challenging if you left them get far away, and just like steel targets it is great for new shooters.
First try at embedding:

I had a lot of fun and making new friends.  It was awsome just standing near and feeling the pressure and sound coming from the M2 burst.  The water cooled MG is nice and they were emptying cans of linked ammo.  The M60 can be pricise with that EOTECH.  I did not see the MG42 in action.  And there was more and more and ect.––––––––     Lets do it again soon!!!!!!!!      (((( Thanks to Fail-Safe and Mickey))))

Yea cause going to an indoor range and shooting paper 3 feet to 75 feet is so much cooler than outside shooting reactive, immediate feed back targets 3 feet - 400 yards plus.

Looked like good times.

Same here.

Yes it does!

If you threw something in the rivers around here it would be hours if not days before it floated downstream!

There is absolutely no current whatsoever in any of the 3 nearest ones.
