My old high school buddy was released from the Army of 24 years due to medical reasons last week. He came up from OK to MN to visit with friends and family and said that he has a gift for me.

He gave me his US flag patch that he worn in combat... he had 3 tours total. (not will the same patch)

I think,  I'll frame it

Have an engraved plaque made with his name/Rank and whatever else he told you about the patch, and frame it.  Plan on giving it back to him on his 50th birthday.
