I brought this over from the other thread.
Hope you don't mind.[:D]

Well your entitled to your opinion.
And that's fine...
But where would you draw the line to help out
a country or a friend.
Or the many countries or friends that you trade with.
These countries/friends that help support your country or neighborhood community.
Do you go to the extreme that that includes trade as well?
And if you were to stay an isolationist, and eventually
the world would be controlled by lets say Russia
at one time. They would soon surround you and be
ready to invade your land.
At what point in time would you say to yourself.
Damn !!!
If I would have intervened 5, 10, 15 years ago,
My ass would be about to be eliminated by the world bully.
You can't stick your head in the sand forever.
And this has to be applied even to your own
neighborhood.
How long would you allow drug dealers to kill
off your neighbors.
When would you join the fight ?
Would you wait until they are at your door ?
Its to late then.
Your SOL.
Just a thought.

If you are basing you belief in isolationism in
thoughts that are over 200 years old, you are not
being realistic.
No offense but the Indians can't have their way of life back
before the white man came here.
They hoped for the same thing. They should have wiped
us out when they had a chance.
But this illustrates my point as well.
We grew and grew and surrounded them until they
were so out numbered that they were defeated.
The same thing would happen to the U.S. if we
blew off the rest of the world. That which we
claimed as our own would eventually be encroached upon
and we would have to fight sooner or later.
My opinion is to fight sooner, later the fight will be
harder if not impossible.
There is strength in numbers.
I will use the Indian plight again as an example.
Look at the reservations, lets take the Navajo for an example.
They have a lot of space out in Arizona and wish to be left
alone for the most part. They are not very well educated,
There are many who drown their sorrows in alcohol,
Their lives are sheltered and I fell they have done themselves and their
people a huge disservice by remaining on the reservations and
not adapting to the way of life for most Americans.
Are they better off ? No.
Not knocking you because your an Indian, I told you I have a
bit of the blood in me. Just using them as an example.
My next response I will use the Incas or the Mayan's.
