I've heard more than one politician in this country say that that the end of the Soviet Union was the worst thing that ever happened. Putin has said the same thing as well, if I recall.
I think Vince Cable said he admired Mao more than anyone. 
So yeah, culturally it lives on in the minds of these idiots. |

I have often thought that fellow-traveling academics, hollywood lefties, Abraham Lincoln Brigade members and the like - all of the mob who shilled for the USSR from 1917 until the end - should be rounded up, and the dead ones dug up, and publicly humiliated. They possessed a rare combination of gullibility, hubris, and evil that should not be permitted to pass quietly from the world.

The communism isn't flourishing in Havana or Pyongyang––its most fertile ground is in American university campuses. I say that because that is what I'm familiar with, but based on what I've read, this phenomenom is not restricted to american schools. |
