Just picked up one of these and a movie, works great! Makes the whole house smell like popcorn.

$50 at a local supermarket, just an impulse buy.

I bought on similar to that a few years back and have really used it a lot.
You need to use Coconut Oil and Flavacol (special popcorn salt) to get the full Old Time Theater effect.
I experimented with dozens of diff types of corn and have settled on a few that I might suggest for you.
Savannah Gold Popcorn by Fireworks popcorn is my favorite.
Their Wisconsin White Birch is great
The local Amish popcorn is pretty good too.

Yeah, I remember that nasty stuff.

I used to have a dedicated popcorn popper, something like a bowl shaped hotplate with a plastic dome on the top. It worked ok, but was messy as hell and hard to clean up.

I ate only store bought popcorn in big bags for years after that fiasco, until microwave popcorn was perfected.

Never heard of flavacol...do you have to order online or is there a local source for it?
