So we're going to the land of milk in a bag to do some hunting and I'm going to need to exchange some $$. Just checked out the rate online and $100 US get's me $103 Canadian.
 I remember not to long ago where $100 US got you $150 Canuck! I guess I'll have to limit my Labatt's Blue consumption! |

Not too long ago? I haven't seen $100 US to $150 CAD since . . . well, shit, the early nineties?
brb ETA: Can't find any charts that look back more than 5 years, but it looks like March of 2009 was the best in the last 5 years. 125 CAD for 100 US. I didn't realize that had gotten that high. |

Hasn't been a good exchange rate ever since Obama took office. When we went in July it was (iirc) $1.13 American to $1 Canadian.

I was there last week and I only got 95 cents for my 1.00 dollar US towards the end of the week it was up to almost even. Consider yourself lucky , the way the kenyan is spending our money.

I've found that an overwhelming amount of Americans that come to my restaurant and expect us to treat their USD like it's gold.
"Sorry sir, we don't change our exchange rate every single day to match current rates. It just so happens we haven't changed it from when it was favorable for us a few months back."  "If it's unacceptable, there is a mcdonalds across the road, however they haven't changed theirs either. I think it's because they're a restaurant, not a bank. |

Calgary. You will surely enjoy Stettler, old country farm town with lots of exploring opportunities. Get used to seeing oil drilling rigs and pump jacks all over the place though, there is alot of black gold in the area. You will be warmly welcomed. Enjoy ! |

Yeppers when you order tea you better say iced tea unsweetened or you get a bag and some hot water. I found no milk in bags in the town I was in but the ribeyes were in vacuum sealed bags.
I used US dollars in most of the shops I was in last week. Bust a hundred and spend it out then bust another. But I did use the credit card in some places. The cabella's visa card I used charged 1% for foreign exchange and the rate was 1.03 american for a canadian dollar. I wonder how much banks charge up there to change currency? |

I was in Waterton checking out the park, we stopped in at a restaurant for supper and the waitress brought me the tea bag setup and I thought about asking for a glass with ice in it but figured better of it. I know I was in a tourist area but the people were very friendly up there some real Texas hospitality. |

The high point was 1.6:1 in January of 2002 with a general decline back to 1.16:1 in April 90. Edit: Looks like it only goes back to Jan 1, 1990. 1.17:1 |

Checked online and it's up to $104 CAN for $100 US.
Checked at my local USBank and they'll sell me $98 Can for $100 US!  I think I'll just stop at a Canadian Bank and buy funny money there. |
