Does this seema tad high?  I got quoted 8 dollars a foot for turnkey install of metal fascia, sophet and J channel.  House is vinyl siding.  Gutters would be extra.  the height is on the second story, so actually taller than my 24 foot ladder can reach.  Guy seemed like a straight shooter and is backed up 3 weeks out, so I assume that price is the going rate.

What kind of metal?  Galvanized or aluminum?  Will he be repairing any damaged framing?

If you are not going to do this yourself, I would get quite a few estimates and compare.

The time to educate yourself on a project is before you write the check, not after.

I just did my own, and I don't think $55/sq would have covered my material costs.

I pay $300 a square......if it is a clay tile roof.

OP I would get a couple estimates. $8 a l.f. for fascia and soffit isn't terrible, but that is a 2 story.

I am assuming you have landscaping and other crap to avoid as well?

sorry, 55 was labor.  materials was about that amount.  materials don't change much from place to place, that's why I just quoted labor.

Thats a fair price for a quality job, its about the minimun i charge. Anything over 24in soffit is 10.00 a foot and up. Remember, low price isnt everything

soffit ... no matter.

In this instance, the spelling is a non-issue.

Really?
How long has be sitting on them shingles?

At that price...I pay someone to do my roof just to watch them lose money.

EDIT:
Ok...$55 for labor, that's a fair price on a walkable rook (less than a 6/12 pitch)

$8 a lineal foot....probably isn't too far out of line today...
About 6 yrs ago (new construction - no demo/clean up) it was around $5/lnft.

Roger.  Thanks for input so far, the guy is highly recommended, so at this price with this guy it looks like a green light.
