There's no way they would just "let" you have after paying for the transfer. From what you said, you gave them the rifle to hold onto until the stamp came, you probably just payed for those 2 guys tabs for the next 2 nights. I don't buy it. |

When I said "them" I meant the ATF. I have to mail in my forms with the $200 just like everyone else. The agents gave me a confirmation number to put on the forms so that the post 86 weapon will be approved. I am not a troll.

They also told me that for a reward I could keep the rifle if I paid THEM the transfer tax and gave them the rifle until my stamp came in the mail (provided I could get a cheif LEO to sign off). So you have a illegally modified AR15 and you think the ATF will let you keep it? No F3cking way is this going to happen. Either your story is completely made up, which I think it is, or the ATF has just found the biggest fool alive!! They also told my that the dealer who sold me the rifle would have to return the $1200 I gave him for the rifle. So, I thanked them, gave them my rifle for the time being, visited my CLEO, and got the papers signed! So for all you that think I am a TROLL, I am NOT. But I did just screw the ATF into giving my a post sample M-16 for $200! Now you want us to believe that you got most of the paperwork done over the weekend?? No Government agency works that fast. In general I can go along with calling the ATF for a scumbag illegal dealer. I can also see that there is immunity for turning in an illegal weapon voluntarily. I can also see getting the guy's money back through forfeiture after arrest or court ordered restitution. What I can't see is the US government breaking the law and authorizing the transfer into private hands of a post sample machine gun.
