We make a concerted effort to not edit or delete posts without an explanation. It might be in the thread but in most cases it will be via e-mail with the author in question. Which means that no one but the recipient of the e-mail and the Mod who sent it would know, unless one of them chooses to make it public.

I have had a few posts deleted or locked.  I have always recieved an email concerning why it happened and I have never had a problem with it.

Censorship by private citizens in a private venue is done all the time. Come to my home and try to speak as you wish and you'll find yourself censored so damn fast your head will spin.

Censorship by the government of private speech is under most circumstances forbidden and different.

See and understand the difference?

The forum rules are spelled out in black and white here. At times people push the boundaries seeking not to communicate or share but to provoke a reaction to which they can point at. "See the moderators are assholes because I couldn't post my links to child porno here".

There are posts that stretch the boundaries of good taste or the rules which most of the times I allow to fly.

I always look at the motivation behind a persons outrageous posting. If the topic is controversal then so be it, let the fur fly, but follow the rules. Be respectful and raise the level of thought rather than the level of your voice and the debate will continue.

Too many people start name calling as soon as the debate starts changing the communication into an argument rather than a discussion. Simple minds that can't think though another's point of view or immature people that don't understand that there could even possibly be other valid viewpoints. They then resort to name calling and gee, the post gets locked.

Of course all talk of felonies and violation of the law are removed too to limit the liabilities to the site. Conspiracy to commit a crime is still a crime even if you're ignorant of the event.

I find that most people who don't understand why their post got locked and moved to the Moderator's forum are just looking for trouble rather than trying to make a point or inform us.

I always have understood the difference between illegal censorship by the government and the legal censorship practiced by the staff of AR15.com. There's no confusion about the legality of your censorship.

If you look at my posts, you will find that some are intended to be humorous, others are intended as civil discussion of serious issues, and none are of the shouting/flaming variety to which you object.

If you accuse me of debating in a non-civil way, can you justify your accusation with references to uncivil posts by me?

Mods here claim to be more righteous than the B.O.I. at ass-web, but wasn't I really just banned simply because DonR doesn't like me? Weren't the rules of AR15.com disregarded in my case, just to satisfy DonR's power-trip?

Paul, I do understand that you have every [i]legal[/i] right to censor and ban. But AR15.com at least claims to work by a Conduct Code, and I've obeyed your Code, so I continue to question why I am banned.

I posted here about my g30 KB and they got wind of it. Suddenly with no one even asking me what happened i had been accused of everything under the sun. I posted over on their thread and the tune change quickly.
They are known as the flat earth society for good reason. If you ever question anything about glock you are a heretic. I have also found the majority of them would not know a decent firearm if you gave them one. There are exceptions but not many.
