Those land fighting vehicles weren't there when I visited back in the '90s. Please get some shots of the HMS Belfast's decks. I neglected to do that when I visited her. She's quite a large, light cruiser and her sister HMS Edinburg was sunk while carrying Russian gold.

Thank you for all the kind words, England is a museum-lover's paradise. The IWM system is first rate, and I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at the branches I was able to visit in Cambridgeshire and London.
Over a seven day period, I visited the following museums - all were excellent. - IWM Duxford -Air -Land - Fitzwilliam Museum - Cambridge Museum of Zoology - Whipple Museum - Sedgwick Museum - The Polar Museum - The Cromwell Museum - The Roman Baths - The London Museum - IWM HMS Belfast - IWM London - The National Army Museum - Apsley House And, of course, Stonehenge. |

Outstanding pics sir, OUTSTANDING...
With the planes, I can't believe you didn't highlight one of the best, sexiest bombers of all times... the VULCAN.... The giant beast is pure sex with wings, could do a tail standing fighter take off, was fast and elegant. I got to see one fly several times at the London Ont. air show as a kid. Got to go inside the beast too, pure sexy win. The armor museum needs more money, some of those AFVs are in some serious need of restoration. Granted, they don't look as bad as the tanks at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, but it is a shame to see how rusted they are. I love AFVs and it really saddens me to see them in non perfect condition. The worst though is the fake ass Tiger tank. I sure hope they had a sign explaining that it wasn't a PzVI and was a Russian T34 with some new skin on it.....  And the HMS Belfast is beautiful, always loved that ship and her whole class... Again sir, awesome pics. |

It's been about 3 months, but I remember that it was displayed with the Norden in between the Superfortress and a Flying Fortress being removed for maintenance. I'm more of a Century Series guy  .

I tried to get a Vulcan highlight shot, but it was beyond the ability of my Sony 8mp point and shoot - it really fills up the AirSpace Hangar, making it hard to fit it into one shot. Same goes for the B-29 and B-52 in the American Air Hangar, you can barely make out pieces of them in some of the shots, but the outright size of those two made it impossible to get a good framing picture of either. |

IWM London was incredible - unfortunately my camera battery died before I made it there. The hardware on display is remarkable - 16" turret out front, the original V2 cutaway, Heinkel 162, Montgomery's M3 command tank, Biber submarine.......on and on and on. I especially appreciated the detailed displays covering every Commonwealth conflict from the 20th Century onward, and the collection of firearms exhibited is superb - everything from a Bergmann MP18 and WZ. 35 to an Orita SMG and a VZ.54. They had an integrally silenced Carl Gustav M/45 (Swedish K) in the ANZAC Vietnam display that I wanted.......
