If it's an abbreviation (all CAPS)
just say the letters. Then again there are some exceptions... ...and no one wants to say Schweizerische Industrie-Gesellschaft [:)] |

So how to pronounce FN-FAL then... seems easy to just pronouce it out! fnfal instead of ef en ef ai el bla bla bla bla.

Fabrique Nationale-Fusil Automatique Legiere (fa-breek' nash-yon-el fyoo-zil aw-toe-ma-teek lee-jay) It means "light automatic rifle." |
