Seems like a lot of these are gone out of business. There is one near me, but the next closest one is over an hour away. These are the only two that I know of over a 4 or 5 county area.
A woman who I was talking earlier this week, who is about 26, had never been to one.
Is this something that people under a certain age(30 maybe) will never to get to experience? I loved 'em when I was a kid, although it seems like some of them switched to porno in the 70's and went out of business in the 80's.

There are several less than a 20 minute drive from my house. Now if I just had a warm female to steam up the winders with me I'd be in heaven.

Used to go all the time as a kid. I haven't seen one in this state in well-over ten years.

Nearly every small town in Texas had one at one time. Now they are all but a thing of the past. Just thinking of all the things that go on there, dates with no idea of what movie is showing, steamed windows, tailgate parties, learning the facts of life and love.
Nearest to me now is about 50miles. But when the kid goes to camp this summer????..... fullclip

Heck, boyz, when Arock, Jarhead_22 and I were driving back and forth between Barry, Illinois, and the BRC site, we passed a drive- in just outside Pleasant Hill, Illinois, every day!
'The Scorpion King' was playing.

Drive-In movies were fine in the days of campy Sci-Fi in high-contrast black & white with mono sound and slow edits.
Seeing a movie like We Were Soldiers or SW Episode 2 at a drive-in would only be 1/10th the experience as seeing it in a dark theater with a THX sound system. And since most people have figured that out for themselves (even if they don't really think about it in those terms), the Drive-In concept is virtually dead.

Yes I was trying to not hijack your thread as I am a good boy.
Not that this has anything to do with anything: When I was 13 or 14 my friend's parents went out of town and left him alone, so three of us took his mother's station wagon and went to the drive in porno movie. Ah the sweet mammories of youth.

Aimless, I just found out that there is a drive in a bout 30 minutes from me so if I could get the drive in to play the game and annex the property to Canada, I could watch hockey, drink with a beautiful woman, and fog up the windows during the intermissions! The best of both worlds.

Ahhh Drive Ins...Used to go to the Lincoln Drive In just outside of NE Philly. Steamed the windows many many times. What a great place to get laid!!!
On Sunday night...It was off to the Tacony Palmyra Drive In in NJ to watch the smokers. I used to take my parents 71 Ford Country Squire Wagon. It did not have the 3rd seat but it had the well. Used to put a couple of the guys in there to beat the admission price.
None left in the area now...what a bummer!!!

Those were great days. Being a teenager, getting wasted and laid at the friendly drive in movie theater.
Jesus, one time my girl friend and I were on top of the car. Forget the back seat, it was a hot summer night.
Damn it! Now you have me thinking about being young and single again.

Riverside California - three screens with (poor) FM sound. $5 for two movies - a prime time and another fair/good movie.
Bring your own popcorn, adult beverages, and candies. Throw a blanket and some pillows in the back of the SUV and make like teenagers again.
What's a MOSQUITOE - is that anything like a margarita?

Sports and women are a dangerous combination, because let's face it, if you aren't giving her the smoochy smooch, she will catch you watching the game instead of "paying attention to her." I've been busted for this before and wrestle with whether to sneakily position myself in a restaurant to watch the game over her shoulder.
If we ever meet any of you guys, keep yer traps shut.

when I was growing up, there was one at the NE corner of Parker and I75 in Plano.
When I was in high school, during the summer, Monday nights, this was the place to be for the party crowd!!! Hot chicks, booze, and other recreational chemicals galore. Young and dumb, but at the time, it was a blast.
I think they showed movies too.
I remember seeing "Papillon" with my dad there when I was about 12 - 1977 or so.
Lots of fun.

I never thought about that Aimless. I guess sports are out but I've never been to a drive in. It's a possibility.

I used to go as a kid. My aunt and uncle once upon a time ran the Skyline Drive-in in Waynesboro. We got in free. I remember my cousin and I having trouble for a week with nightmares after we saw "Slithis" and "Squirm" in a double feature...
