Does anyone have a Benilli MR-1 ? This lil baby has that traditional rifle silhouette and it uses AR mags too, its like a modernized mini-14.

but any who...I am thinking about selling my mini for one. I got to finger fuck the one at academy, but it had the pistol grip tho. not much of a fan of the pistol grip look tho.  academy's price tag was $1200.

Messed around with a few, but haven't had a chance to fire 'em.  The ergonomics relating to the cheek weld/sight alignment are terrible, you can keep it.  Oh, and changing mags is a PITA.

I like it. It's probably a lot more accurate than a mini 14. Of course that is true for most rifles, and probably even a few pistols.

It's going to be very fussy with what type of magazine you use. Ours doesn't like anything with Magpul followers so have some "old" USGI mags available for it.

Cleaning it isn't bad after you break it down and reassemble it a few times.

The hand guard doesn't offer much heat protection and your hand will definitely get warm after running through one mag.

Seems to have a faster rate of fire than my AR's and I can stay on target better with the MR1 (no pistol grip on ours).

3 moa at 100 yards with open sights and my old eyes.

I don't hate ours, but if I had it to do over again I'd probably opt for another AR.

If it was half the price of an AR, I might go for it.

But it has the same problem the mini does. Why try a new, untested/unproven weapon when I can buy an AR for a little bit more (in the mini's case) or for the same price or less (in this thing's case) ?

If the mag well was pushed back and connected to the trigger guard, but the weapon retained the traditional stock look, hell I'd even go for wood furniture, this thing could be worth 650 - 800 in my book, as a plinking beater gun. and could easily steal any market the mini has.

But for the price and the weird fuckin look, I'll pass.

Get the pistol grip one, noob. I don't buy any guns without pistol grips. It'd be nice to have since it looks so different.

With all of the cool options on the market, why just buy such an abortion?

The Kel-Tec SU-16C makes everything this thing does, it's lighter, handier, cheaper and made in the USA.

Benelli had IMHO the best semi-auto shotgun on the market.  I absolutely love my Super Black eagle 2 (left handed versions are a bitch and a half to find) and I will sell it the day after I pawn my liver.  But their VInci is in the same bastardized plastic looking abomination that this is.  Someone over there is getting Mattel plastic happy and needs a foot in the ass.

But as long as I am not fitting the bill for this, buy what makes you happy.  Just tell Benelli to stop this bullshit, please.
