I have a stack of them, and the last one I have is the deadly hollows one, I think. Should I watch them, or is it another SAW epidemic?

They aren't bad.  I've read all the books, so I naturally wanted to watch the films.  They in no way live up to the books (no surprise), but they're fun...you probably won't be disappointed.  I do think they get progressively less entertaining after #4.  But then, so do the books, IMO.

I enjoyed them, but was pretty sick of it by the time they released the first half of the last one.

We just started watching them a couple of weeks ago at my 6 year olds request and I have to admit I really like them.  The first two movies are good but the story really picks up at The Prisoner of Azkaban.

this.  Prisoner of Azkaban was a great flick and easily my favorite out of all of them.

The plots aren't overly complex, and there's a recurring/repeating plot line over the entire series.  It's enjoyable, but it's not great theater like Heat or Red Dawn.

They are OK movies.

The movies were decent, some better than others.  But I didn't think they were anything special.

The books, on the other hand, are some of the best books I've ever read.  I'd put them up there with Lord of the Rings, seriously.

I'm gonna go with these now.

I like the series quite a bit.  I haven't read the books––I have too much other stuff in front of them, ha.  That said, the first two are pretty much kid movies.  You sort of have to wade through them to get to the better stuff.  But you do need to watch the all of them to appreciate the story.

I was in the same boat a few weeks ago... Just do two or three a night and then go see the last film right afterwards.

I really enjoyed the series, and it felt more like an HBO miniseries than a series of films. I'd say its one of the best coming-of-age miniseries out there.

Watch them, then read, or listen to the books. The movies follow the books reasonably, but leave out a LOT of good side story lines, and a few major ones, that in my opinion make the story.

I agree.  At first I was meh about them, but they get better from the third on up.  I actually really enjoyed the latest movie.

All you need to watch is Wizard People, Dear Reader.  It's on youtube in chapters or you can download it and burn it to dvd.

Behold greatness!

I am a huge Harry Potter movie fan.  They are extremely well done, the story is fantastic, and the casting of the movies will likely go down in cinema legend.  The fact that they cast those 11 year old kids way back when and how well they fit over the course of the movie production is outstanding.

The first two movies do have a bit of a "kid movie" feel to them, but the story is good.  By the third movie, you'll be hooked.

saw the first one and it got me curious about the story. Read the books and now dont care much for the movies (have not see the last one yet).  Books are good.

That was probably my least favorite of the movies, though it was one of my favorite books.
