[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Any refugees from Assaultweb.Net here?

I left after the entire board began to
implode with the B.O.I., and closed door
deliberations.

Now AW.N is down for good, it seems. Do
we have any other AW.N refugees here?

(in a sense, this is a homecoming for me,
since my first gunboard was the OLD AR15.com
back in 1999)

I heard over at A Well Regulated Militia that AssWeb was changing servers. They had a temporary URL set up. I stop by there every now and then but the site is pretty much worthless. There is very little valuable info and a bunch of jackass moderators.

I don't know why they are down but I ran across the strange Board of Inquiry stuff on Full Auto-

They have set up some kind of board of people that review accounts and decide to throw people off, I guess for not agreeing with their "conservative christian" beliefs, although there may be more too it.

Oh they threw off poor Stormbringer for posting that he believed in evolution in their religious section.

If you don't have 20 posts by tonight they kill your account off (although you can e-mail to keep your account active).

The main forums page comes up but you can't get into the subsections of the forums-or I can't anyway.

I really don't have a problem with AssaultWed. I do try to stay away from the General Discussion section. The only sections I really look at is Battle Rifles, AR, Gear Accesories section.

Oh, thanks my bad. Really to be fair I never looked at that one anyway. I was kind of put off by the religious stuff-but I don't go anywhere else anyway, I fritter away enough time here as it is.

I would venture that theirs are the divergent beliefs. Remeber these are the same whack jobs that defended a member who tried to murder a cop. They also advocate lots of illegal activity and feel that they are somehow superior to those who prefer our way of life with its imperfections to their radical beliefs.
You will find that while those here may often disagree with our government or policies, very few here believe in anything other than the political process to redress these issues.

Everything's offline for me, no home page, no gd , nothing as of this post.
There was a post this am about server maint but I would think that things would be back online or at least a greeting page would appear that said that the site was down for maint. Just have to wait & see. I would imagine some here have the private emails of some of the admins or mods there and could post info if it were available.

They're probably having a secret BOI meeting and forgot to turn things back on....

I was a member of the "old" ar15.com in '99
Drifted over to assweb since their were quite a few more locals their than here.Calling here home again tho'. Stil post on AW.net but things have gotten really "tin-foilish" over there if ya know what I mean.

There are some really nice folks over at Assault Web, and if you stay in the GUN forums, lots of good info. The General Discussion is where the sh** happens. I'm sure I don't fit the mold of what the board founders expect, but then again I don't make it a point to let 'em know that on a daily basis, so I've never had a problem there.

There are a lot of good folks over there, shoot with a bunch of them on a regular basis. I think the current goings on are an attempt to regain some measure of quality the board had before the "Whack Jobs" ran rampant. I really hope the old AW.N comes back. BTW: AW.N was the first gun board and chat room I ever found, immediately followed by this one. Memory is hazy, but I think that was 1997/98. My list of suppliers, contacts and such come from this board. Especially the reloading stuff.

I've been here since day one. Quit Assault Web due to a lack of ... manners I guess. Was on Mike Reagan's 2nd Amendment Board before he removed it in '97 or so.
