"New Enterprise Server Takes Shape, Gets New Name: Windows 2002

LOS ANGELES, April 30, 2001 -- In an address to Gartner, Inc. "Windows 2000 and Beyond" conference today, John Enck, Gartner's research director of server strategies, revealed that Microsoft's enterprise server products, previously code-named "Whistler," will be released under the name Windows 2002.

In February, Microsoft announced the official product name of Windows XP, the company's next-generation desktop operating system, which had previously shared the Whistler code name with the server products."

"The Transition from DOS to Windows XP (eXPerience)
(formerly Windows 2002). . .

Many software application packages, in areas such as records management, have recently made the transition from DOS to Windows. But . . . , not to Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition), Windows 2000, or Windows XP (formerly Windows 2002),. . .  Windows 2000 and the follow-on Windows XP (eXPerience) (Windows 2002), . . .

[In 2001, Microsoft plans to replace Windows 2000 (and to replace Window 98, 98 Second Edition, and ME) with Windows XP (eXPerience) which was to have been Windows 2002, and may still be followed by Windows 2003)]

Thanks.

You can take that dollar and donate it to your favorite charity, or ar15.com.  Or give it to Alf and he can make a phone call.

I'm not sure that Whistler was the intended name, or just a code name for their project.  I don't know why the need a damn code name if that was the case.

I can't claim a dollar for something I didn't know anyway.  I looked it up on the WWW.

On second thought, just use that buck for a few rounds for your AR.  With each shot bow to the west and chant "JEROSU, YOU ARE MY HERO." [50]

Edited to say:
Oh wait, what part of Oregon are you in?  I'm in Corvallis.  So bow towards Corvallis and shoot!
