Two rants - AR15.COM

These just came to me:

-Handguns are for the most part fully legal in the US. Handguns have barrels less than 16". Meanwhile, a rifle with a barrel less than 16" is [i]evil[/i], and must be banned/registered. Similarly, put a stock on a non-evil handgun, and it magically becomes [i]evil[/i].

-During the infamous North Hollywood Shootout, the pitifully underarmed police force was forced to go to a [i]gun shop[/i] and acquire [i]evil assault weapons[/i] (AR15s) and child-killing 30 round magazines to defeat the robbers (who were using guns already illegal, yet they still managed to get them). How does the state of California thank B&B guns? By effectively banning AR15s and 30 round magazines. (Hell, the state had already made reforms requiring cops to carry rifles in the patrol cars, so why do civilians need them anymore?)

stubbs, unless things have changed, you can only buy dumb handguns until 2006. MD state law.

Especially now that they have unbridled authority to secretly monitor websites like AR15 for "potential terrorist activity"... ummm.... errr... especially since they are great guys with phenomenal senses of humor and outstanding character (think J. Edgar).

Actually, DoubleFeed, the deadline date is January 1, 2003. And yes, I'm very aware of it. Just think of Maryland as the future of the US. One glorious day, all Americans will be made to buy only smart guns too! It'll be fun!

Someone posted here recently that their kid was taught IN GRADESCHOOL BY THE TEACHER that guns are bad because they can shoot through "28 school walls" (teacher's own words).

Well, my post was kinda tongue-in-cheek. A pathetic attempt at humor, I must say. [:)]

I hadn't read that other post. Hopefully, the parents raised a big stink, and at least got the teacher reprimanded (although knowing public schools, it probably won't happen)
