Regarding Ventura,
He most definitely is NOT very good. There are SOME things that I do sincerely like about him. I do not like the fact that tuition was raised for students at the U of MN, but things will slowly improve. The tuition is going to take another 15% hike in the next year or so because he kept denying millions of dollars in the proposed Univ budget for state funding. He said he would also press for CCW Shall Issue in MN, but he never touched that issue with a 10 ft pole yet, likely never will. Some senators are now proposing different forms of Shall-Issue CCW permits, but nothing seems stable yet. Basically I am trying to state he is a mindless jackass. In the year he was elected, we had three primary choices: 1.) Lying, Sniveling, Sneaky Shitbag Republican Candidate 2.) Lying, Sniveling, Sneaky Shitbag Democratic Candidate 3.) Loud, Obnoxious, Mindless WWF Celebrity Wrestler Laughing at #1 & #2. So many absent-minded Minnesotans thought it would be good to try straying away from the #1 & #2 shitbags & voted a stubborn mindless asshole into governor's office. |

Fair. He pushed for the damn light rail boondogle. He won't be re-elected if he decides to run again. Unfortunately, that means someone REALLY crappy will get in, like a green nazi or something.

Where the hell are the damn Libertarian candidates around here? Last mayoral election here in Minneapolis, we had a choice between TWO DFLers (Democratic Farm Labor, our own little bolshiveks). What a joke. I voted for "none of the above". |

I hope you're all doing well! This summer (not sure just when yet) there are about 10-15 students planning an informal shooting trip out on some state owned land north of the metro area. I sure would like to, but there are a few problems with the possibility of me going: 1. AR15 is at my parent's house (and is disassembled)! AKA I'm temporarily disarmed... Doesn't matter though, because I'm out of ammo. 2. I cannot afford to go shooting right now. ESPECIALLY shooting Full-Auto. I'm in Credit Card DEBT (AKA I'm in College!)! I cannot buy a new fun toy or go shooting until I get it payed off. Otherwise I"m sure that I would love to go shooting sometime wednesday night. It's usually really busy in Armored Fire on wednesdays nights, but it's still a nice place to go. The owner is a really nice guy if you get to know him, and so is his friend Bob. Contact me when time rolls around further. I'll see what I can do with my time... I might be able to save up some $$ for a shoot then. |

FYI, I made it to Armored Fire about 6pm on the 5th. Full auto rentals are by appointment only, as I unfortunately found out when I got there. They have tons of pistols so I shot the Desert Eagle .50AE a bit. Nice gun.
Speaking of Ventura, I stopped by the state capitol for a tour and wore my BRC hat & t-shirt. No govenor sightings though... Neither. He's just an idiot. I work in Duluth MN and we recently had a problem where foreign vessels were docking and doing their business, and while they were here they would have older women go into town and solicit young girls (16-17 yr olds) to come on the ships and sleep with crewmembers for money. Jesse's response was "well they just outta legalize prostitution". Now I ask you, is that a solution to the problem we were having? Would you like your teenage daughter selling herself to scum? The mayor of Duluth Gary Doty chewed him a new asshole.

While i was still living in CA it seemed Mr. Ventura was a straight-shooting non-politico. Since moving back I realize he's a F*#@ing moron. He has been caught lying to the public many times. He's too brain dead to remember what he told the media six months before. Actually responded to a reporter's question "Awk!" (spelling correct)(his brain froze as he thinking)...An idiot politician and an embarassment to the state of Minnesota.

Jesse is a complete idiot. He was a strong advocate of CCW until he got elected & got his. Then he totally forgot about it. He couldn't even get his CCW when he was a mayor, Brooklyn Park, I think.
His candidacy was all about feeding his ego & making a lot of money for him. He helped a previous candidate run as an independent & the other candidate got no publicity unless Jesse was with him on the campaign trail. One of the handlers got the idea that Jesse himself should run & the rest is history, as Jesse will be after the next election. He only won because of the throw-away vote of the Univ. of MN students & disaffected rural voters. His Democratic opponent, Skip Humphrey, is a tax & spend ultraliberal in the grand Minnesota tradition & his Republican opponent, Norm Coleman, is a transplanted new Yorker who recently changed his affiliation from Democratic to Republican. Jesse only looks attractive to non-Minnesotans because he is a great sideshow. He only looks like a straight shooter because he is too stupid to be diplomatic. He has given me a whole new appreciation for professional politicians. |
