Praise the Lord, indeed!

I am thrilled to hear that you are in a much more secure neighborhood than before!

Even so, there is no reason to lower your guard much, just go from Condition Red to Condition Orange.[:D]

I remember when I moved out of my first sh!thole.

The sun will be brighter.
The sky will be bluer.
The air will be cleaner.
And if people argue late at night, at least you will be able to understand them.

I used to live just off Franklin Ave while I went to Augsburg College, I used to hang out on the West Bank. I used to think where I lived was pretty bad until I moved to NYC for Grad School at Brooklyn College in the "Bed-Sty" neighborhood. I used to think that that was pretty bad until I moved to the inlet section of Atlantic  City. I am glad that I don't live in any of those areas anymore. I am sure that you feel lucky to leave without too many scars.

super good news man! that's really great!

-don't let down your guard till ALL your stuff is out.
-get help moving from ar15 guys
-give the building the finger as you drive away, it will you feel better [:D]
-try not to piss anybody off in your building now, it would suck to have them do "a hit" on you the day before you move out.
-don't tell anybody your going.

post pics of the new place when you get there.

happy happy!!!

I agree with FatMan.  I really liked hearing about the adventures of living in "the hood".  I am glad to hear you are out though.  I have only lived in one place I would not like to go back.  My wife and I lived in an apartment complex in Mesquite Tx.  Lots of poor white folks and short timers.  Many fights and stealing.  The two bed room apartments were meant for smaller families.  However, our next door neighbors wanted all of their extended family with them.  Must have been a dozen or so.  Drunk husband constantly beating on the wife and small kids.  One time she showed up at our door bleeding from the nose and needed to use our phone.  I had my Iver Johnson model 999 Sportsman loaded with birdshot ready to go into action.  What was I thinking?  He gets arrested and spends a day in jail.  Next day they are in love again.  I wonder if their kids will abuse their spouses?  I also remember two grease fire happening there.  Gallons of old rancid cooking oil on the stove.  Now my wife is looking to move back to TX.  She wants to move closer to her family that live in Somerton.  My only reference of Texas is Mesquite.
One thing I still remember vividly is apartments being built almost overnight.  I can still remember Mexicans working on the roofs from morning to night.  Must have been 120+ degrees on those roofs.  Those were some tough hard working men.
