nel? I've always known them as the "Founding Fathers". Please tell me this is not some PC crap.

i think they used brothers as the "fathers" didn't see themselves as "fathering" anything.  i think the majority of them would have laughed at being called Founding Fathers.  especially when you consider that the History Channel show is having a pretty big focus on all the in-fighting amongst them, i think "fathers" connotes a little to nicey-nicey picture than reality really was.  just MHO.

I thought it was some PC thing too once I first saw it.  

"We" consider them as the Founding Fathers.  I would think they would consider themselves more like Brothers in Arms.

So they come up with Founding Brothers...

THere is also a book about the "founding fathers" called [i]Founding Brothers[/i].  I believe it was written by Joseph Ellis?  There may be a link there too.
