Which one would you get and why?

Neither.  I've sold lots-o-Kimbers and never had a complaint, they are IMHO better than a Springfield and just as good as a Wilson but much less expensive.  Kimbers are slick, straightforward , elegant pistols with  practical features needed at a reasonable price.  BTW, I'm not a Kimber sales rep, just a pharmacist with a FFL and a serious firearms addiction.  Go play with some Kimbers, bet you'll like 'em!

Wilsons if for no other reason than the customer support.  If you have a problem with your pistol, they WILL make it right.  Don't matter what they have to do, they'll make you 100% satisfied.  And they will get the gun back to you within two weeks.

And Wilsons are very nice pistols.  My 1996A2 is MUCH smoother than my friends Kimber CC Series I.  It's also extremely accurate.

Kimbers DO NOT compare to Wilsons.  Yes, Kimbers are very good guns for the money, but they don't have the polish of Wilsons.  Besides, the new Kimbers are all Series II (firing pin safety), which may be a positive or negative depending on what you think of them.  I personally don't want the firing pin safeties.

In fact, I just looked at the old Colt box that I kept from a 1911 of theirs.  I sold it to buy my Wilsons.  I don't regret getting the Wilson, but the box indicates the gun I sold was a Series 70 (no firing pin safety).  Man, I wish I would've kept that Colt and just saved for another few months....  [>Q]

I thought both Kimber and Wilson use the same Jerico casting facility...
I think I would opt for a Caspian frame and slide..with no sight cuts and send this off to a reputable gunsmith.. Heinie or Novak or Yost or any number of good smiths..the main thing is getting quality fire control parts and barrel ..for the money and wait...Id go with a Fred Kart...imo of course

I'd get a Llama.  You can get 15 or 20 of them for what 1 Wilson will cost you. [:D]

Wilson's are forged not cast. I don't like kimbers because they look like they where put to a belt sander.

The three that give me a hard -n are Bare's Comanche, Clark's meltdowns and STI's VIP.

Did a little quick research...from what I find...both Wilson and Kimber use the same frame and slide...from Jerico but they are both forged and not cast
Remember these are raw forgings and they each do their own machining.
