If all 100 lived in freedom, these figures would change dramatically.

If the other 8 had parents who were not assholes who had children without means to provide for them, most of the problems wouldn't exist.

I REFUSE to feel guilty about the way God has blessed America with freedom.

Or feel guilty about how my own hard work has profited me.

Sorry - ain't gonna happen.

If you would take the one with the computer out,
Most likely a government employee, everyone else would be better off.....

And as we strive for the ever faster Internet connection...

50% of the world has never made a phone call.

Blessed before all nations, that's us.

How about this? See the website listed at the bottom. It's a free download and I use it quite a bit. It works great!!

Happy friendship week everyone!

Something to Think About...

If we could shrink the earth's population to a village of precisely 100 people, with all the existing human ratios remaining the same,it would look something like the following:

There would be:

57 Asians
21 Europeans
14 from the Western Hemisphere, both north and south
8 Africans

52 would be female
48 would be male

70 would be non-white
30 would be white

70 would be non-Christian
30 would be Christian

89 would be heterosexual
11 would be homosexual

6 people would possess 59% of the entire world's wealth and all 6 would be from the United States.

80 would live in substandard housing
70 would be unable to read
50 would suffer from malnutrition
1 would be near death; 1 would be near birth
1 (yes, only 1) would have a college education
1 would own a computer

When one considers our world from such a compressed perspective, the need for acceptance, understanding and education becomes glaringly apparent.

The following is also something to ponder...

If you woke up this morning with more health than illness...you are more blessed than the million who will not survive this week.

If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation ....you are ahead of 500 million people in the world.

If you can attend a church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death...you are more blessed than three billion people in the world.

If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep...you are richer than 75% of this world.

If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace ... you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.

If your parents are still alive and still married ... you are very rare, even in the United States and Canada.

If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in that someone was thinking of you, and furthermore, you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world that cannot read at all.

Someone once said: What goes around comes around.

Work like you don't need the money. Love like you've never been hurt. Dance like nobody's watching. Sing like nobody's listening. Live like it's Heaven on Earth.

It's National Friendship Week. Send this to everyone you consider a FRIEND.

Pass this on, and brighten someone's day. Nothing will happen if you do not decide to pass it along. The only thing that will happen, if you DO pass it on, is that someone might smile because of you.

Happy friendship week everyone!

No doubt, man. No doubt.

But never fear.

The Bible tells us that "Happy is the nation who's God is the Lord."

As we proceed further and further kicking God out of our country, we'll eventuallly see some parity between us and the rest of the world.

I don't think the point is to make you feel guilty - but rather to feel GRATEFUL - like saying grace before you eat.  (But be careful you don't feel proud - because I think that's a cardinal sin! [:)] )

Despite your hard work, you can still be grateful that you weren't born in Nigeria, Bosnia or Bangladesh - or born a cow, or a dog, or a cockroach - or even worse, a Frenchman!

I do DEFINATELY feel blessed and fortunate to be born an American, non-insect/bovine/canine.

I guess I've just seen TOO MANY of these "greedy/rich/ugly American" threads. Granted, ugly Americans do exist (most of them visit Cancun annually) but as a whole, while being the most fortunate people in the world, Americans are ALSO the MOST caring, giving, sacrificial, sharing, responsive, charitable people in the world as well.

And yes, PTL I'm not a Frenchman!!  [:D]

BTW, pride is only a cardinal sin if you are Catholic. For a Baptist, EVERY sin is enuf to send you to hell.   [:D]

Homosexuals do not make up
eleven per cent of the worlds'
population.
More like two per cent.

When I first saw this six months ago,
I wondered about the other "statistics"
listed.  Some one has been playing fast
and loose with the facts. Don't trust
them.

I don't believe those stats either........except that the US is the greatest country on the planet.
And if I have to use my ar15 to keep it that way I'll do it[:)]

Looks like our "friend" Buddha lives in Liberal Lakes, MN.  I don't feel sorry or responsible for the other people of the world.  I am blessed to be born a natural citizen in the United States.  I have seen this message float around for a couple of years from various eurphorian types.  It is another attempt to show us how evil we are for being white and living in america.

As my daughter say "like who cares". Those stats can be manufactured in manner to make someone feel guilty, I don't. As long as I remember Life, Liberty, and the PURSUIT of those things that I can earn by the sweat of my brow the rest of the masses can take care of themselves.

Whoa, just got back and read the replies. I didn't mean to upset anyone's sensibilities. I opened the e-mail right after a bad conversation with a former girlfriend. Without going into a long-winded explanation of the feelings involved, the e-mail made me realize that in the great ocean of life, my concerns with her amount to about a drop. The timing of the e-mail was just right. It brought me some clarity and I thought I'd share it with this great forum. The numbers are interesting to me.

No one should feel guilty about living in the greatest nation on earth and having the good food and other great things that we have(such as that fine AR!). People need to quit whining and get to work!

DK -

When someone reads something like this, they bring into it a WHOLE lifetime of experience.

Mine has been that these types of circulating e-mails usually have an underlying message - that America is a greedy, abusive, consumer that adds little to the worlds well-being. You'll have to excuse me if i'm a little hypersensitive in defending the greatest nation on earth.

You can't ask someone to divorce a lifetime of experience in responding to these things.

I'm grateful for God's blessing in my life (including my native country) and "proud" of my own accomplishments. How that statistically falls into a comparison with the rest of the world, is informative, but little else for me.

The article was nice.

I don't need "touchy, feely" things to make me appreciate how lucky I am.

That's the problem now days.  everthing is done to bring about an "emotional" feeling.  When emotion gets in the way of logical thinking, we lose.

I get enough of the "emotional" stories from the newsmedia, US Representatives, etc.

Give me the facts, I will then make up my mind.
