I like REM. They've got some good stuff, but I've not heard anything new from them in awhile.

I tend to think that you'd be hard pressed to find many musicians and artists that weren't of the liberal hippie mindset in todays music industries. I know that there are some, but they tend to be the exception rather than the rule these days.

I still listen to them alot.

R.E.M. - first seven albums sound better every year.

Chronic Town, Murmur, Reckoning, Fables Of The Reconstruction, Life's Rich Pageant, Automatic For The People, Out Of Time are standing the test of time for me. Throw in some Velvet Underground covers on Dead Letter Offfice!!!

Fables is my favorite...always brings back alot of good memories. I'm from Georgia

Wendall Gee is my #1, Half A World Away#2, Find The River #3.

I helped the drummers wife get un-stuck at a cemetery. Her and another lady, might have been another band members wife were visiting a cousin of mines grave. He used to be a writer and bartender in Athens. I believe he even helped compose some of their songs. The whole band attended his wedding but not his funeral.

Somehow I knew they wouldn't get a lot of love on Arfcom, but I've been a fan since I was in junior high. Life's Rich Pageant and Automatic for the People are two of the best albums ever.

Loved everything they put out on the IRS label. "Reckoning" is one of my 10 favorite albums. Once they left IRS though, I kind of lost interest.

After "Document", it seemed like every album was worse than the last. Just couldn't dig their new sound. "New Adventures In Hi-Fi" was when I gave up.

Just got "Live At The Olympia in Dublin". LOTS of old stuff. (I think they do the whole "Chronic Town" EP.)

I like/had all their older stuff from Murmur to Lifes Rich Pageant, Document, and Green, Green was where it all ended for me and they no longer exist after that...

the underlined albums got the most play.

Listening to it now brings back memories.. this would have been in the tape deck of the car and the pile of tapes in the glove box and all over the floor..

along with the Hardcore, Thrash, Metal and punk... now where is my skateboard....
