I think I could do a better job of bugging "in" than out.

People know foreigners, but I think I could disappear into America.

It depends on whether I'm trying to avoid extradition.......You can bet, if I was bugging out for legal reasons I'm sure the country I choose will not have an extradition agreement with the United States.........

Where in the world does an American go for more freedom?

This is it, we're backed into a corner.  If we lose freedom here, it is lost everywhere.

This is where we take our stand.  Right here.

Mexico, Argentina, New Zealand, The Ukraine,Chile, Greece, Croatia, Italy, England, Australia, Costa Rica, Honduras, The Bahamas, Canada... depends on whether I'm needing to go to a place that extradites or not

I speak fluent English and Spanish, so anywhere that speaks one of those two is pretty much a go. I've been to some of these places (Honduras, Greece, Croatia, Italy, Mexico, Austria, Germany, England, etc.), so I know I'd like them. I also speak a little Russian (better at reading it), and very limited Italian and German–– which I picked up off the street, which tells me that I could become fluent pretty quickly if immersed.

Honestly, if it was for something criminal or I was hiding from somebody, I'd probably try to keep on the move around continental Europe. Also, there's nothing about me that would just stand out and point me out in a crowd of Europeans, other than my height (and Germans, at least the ones I saw when we were there, are tall anyway, as are the Dutch), so I could blend in more easily than I could in other places.

That's not necessarily it. Could be legal reasons. What if you were framed for a crime, or a criminal organization was hunting you down?

Depends on who it is. I wouldn't fuck with the Russian mafia.

Hmmm true, and aren't there some enclaves of expats down there in a few places? Might not even have to learn the local language. Not my first pick, simply due to quality of life, but not a bad choice, either. The Philippines or Indonesia would probably be a decent pick too.

I'd make my way to Canada, through the backwoods of Maine.  I've got so many relatives in Canada, I have no doubt I could hide for years and no one would find me.

The government?

Organized crime?

The economy?

Nature?

All different answers.
