They dont go 'bad', they were never 'good' to begin with.

I don't think they do either but I need to make some room for other stuff so I was thinking about dropping a load of Ramen at the local food bank but I'm not sure if they would accept "expired" food.

Ramen doesn't really go "bad"

However if it goes past the date it usually loses all its flavor, and sometimes texture. Ask me how I know.

The question is, what dynasty?  If it's Mao 62 or later  it's good; an earlier dynasty, regardless of year, is expired.

They are fried before packaging.  The oil can sort of go rancid and give them a weird smell and consistency.

No thanks, I will find out for myself when the time comes that I HAVE to crack open one of the 40 cases I bought for emergency rations.
