at my apartment.

Their "Insurance Company" says it creates a fire hazzard, and the city ordinance says you cannot store "Liquified Petroleum Gas" in dwellings in the city limits.

That sucks!!

Same law here in GA. No grill, gas or coal, allowed at Apts.
Too many morons who don't know how to grill making huge fires and burning down the whole building.

Now everyone pays for the stupid masses - Again.

I'd tell them to go to hell first off.  What exactly does the ordinace say.  You mentioned in dwellings, a porch or deck is outside a dwelling.  It sounds like Kaliban rule up there.

Dude, if you aren't using Charcoal then you aren't grilling anyway!!  If you don't have Charcoal, then it's orange wood all the way!

If they ever tell me I can't grill at my aparment, I'll give them 2 weeks notice that I'm moving out.  I won't be paying the fee for breaking my lease either!

I know that city ordinances around here prevent cooking on balconies. You have to be at least 15 feet from the building. Thing is-- nobody seems to enforce it. I see people BBQing on balconies all the time. Fire Marshalls inspect the area each year, and the BBQs remain. Go figure.

All you have to do is put the grill in the bathroom and turn the fan on.  Also a small above ground pool or Jacuzzi in the front room and a potted palm tree in the corner and life is good. Surfs up, party hardy dude

Since there is any mesquite or hickory trees in So. Calif., it's Charcoal & either mequite or hickory chips. If you read the warning on the propane tank, it says don't store in an inhabited area.
