Mine is 1325.  This includes the bit extra to cut payments off the back end.  It is manageable even after a pay cut of 25% that I did not count on.

I bought a nice house - mid 80's split level - in a booming area on a full acre with a 15 year note.  It is much more house than what I was looking for, but for the extra 15,000 I have much more than a shack on a 1/4 acre.  This thing is a big part of my retirement plans package.

Friends choke at a payment like this, but I am adding 455 bucks of equity a month. I will have it paid off by the time I am 46, and I bought it when I was 33.

That's cheap to me.

The townhouse I rented in 1990 was $1450 a month, and I'm spending more on a mortgage than that.

$711.89/mo PITI.  Just refinanced for 20 years at 7% after paying 10 years on a 30-year at 9%.  Took out $17k in equity for upgrades on the house.

The pay in Tucson may suck, but the housing market ain't bad.

$1012 including taxes & ins.  Been in about 2 years and reappraised at $64k over what I bought for....and I'm just starting the improvement projects.  I have renters lined up for when I move out of state, too [:)]

Oh yeah 47, aka Todd S. from DVD's post, is a pretty upright guy.  Call him if you want to refi or just get a loan to buy a place.
