First car was a '69 Chevy Nova w/396, M21, 3.08 (iirc) posi rear.  My dad special ordered it in the winter of '68 in Mountain Home Idaho. I wrecked it twice in highschool, the first time, trying to show off, the second time trying to light a smoke. The second time totaled the front end, and it sat until my dad sold it (for more than he paid new).
2nd car was a '75 Merceury Comet, with a straight 6, and 3 on the tree. That six would smoke the rear single track rearend  with NO problem!! It got taken out by a Chevy Citation (which survived the incident).
3rd '76 Nova 4 door (305)
4th '91 s-10 (2.8)
5th' 93 GMC sonoma extended cab w/ the z series 4.6
6th '72 Chevy Nova (see a trend here?/) w/ a mild 350 (had to sell it due to having a daughter and needing the money)
7th '96 POS Neon
8th 1999 Grand Am
9th 2001 Grand Am GT

Always been a truck kind of guy (the better to haul dirt bikes in). So far, I've only had two (four-wheeled) vehicles: a '76 Datsun King Cab and a '94 Ford Ranger STX SuperCab (both 2WD, both purchased new). Run 'em till they run no more, I say. [:)]

My first vehicle was a black and chrome 1987 Honda Rebel motorcycle.  I had that in high school.  Then after I graduated high school, I got a metallic brown 1981 Honda Civic hatchback.  It was totaled when someone rear ended me while I was waiting for a traffic light to change.  My next car was a white 1989 Honda Civic hatchback.  That was my car until last Friday when I was rear ended and knocked off the road by a hit and runner.  At this moment, I'm without a car. 1956 Chevrolet 150 2-door sedan.  Stripped it down, jacked it up, straight front axle, 5.13 rear gears, 2.20 Muncie, several different small blocks and it would pick the front end up in the first two gears.  Explode off the line when you side-stepped the clutch.  Grab second the instant the front end settled back down.  Built the engines in a horse stall in the barn.  Drove it on the street and raced it on the runways at Caddo Mills where we used to run six cars at a time.  Flagman would look for the widest gap to stand.  Early 1960's were fun.

My first was an 89 Chevrolet K5 Blazer.  This thing was great it would go anywhere, but it was in the shop most of the time.  Bought it used with 89,000 miles, and put two engines and four transmissions in it over a period of years.  It was finally totalled in a head on crash with some bitch in a mini-van trying to beat the light.

First car was a 1968 Mercury Monterey 4 door hardtop with bench seats.  It featured a 390 2 bbl and could hit 110 fully loaded with friends. This was a good idea because it got a little light in the front with just me in it.  What a smoothe riding car that was. Her name was "Josephine" and she had a bleached out powder blue paint job over the stock tan.

I once loaded it with 7 people, all of their gear, a keg, and as many tubes.  We did a tube run down a river north of Gainesville, FL.  That was a fun day.

After that:

1989 Cavalier 2 door RS white, had it for 5 weeks and traded it for...
1964 Thunderbird HT, Britany Blue, traded that for...
1993 Saturn SL, white, drove it 250K miles and sold it.
Now have:
1994 Trooper: wife's car, my hunting vehicle
1993 Geo: my commuter

Not nearly as plentiful as other lists, but certainly colorful.

1976 at the ripe old age of 16 I bought, well parents did, my first car. A blue 1963 Dodge Dart 4 door with a 225 slant 6 engine and a push-button auto tranny. God I wish I still had that car. Gave to my sister when she turned 16.

Then came;

1967 Ford Galaxy 500 2-door fast-back w/390-4v
1970 Ford Mustang fastback with a 351C and auto., drove this one for 17 years.
1949 Willys CJ3A with a Chevy 283
1963 Dodge 440 Stationwagon with old style 318 and push-button auto tranny. I kinda' like them pushbutton trannys. [:D] This was a huntn', fishn', partyn' car instead of beating up the Mustang.
1978 Honda Civic
1985 Yamaha RZ350 last of the 2 stroke street bikes, bought new, still have, and not for sale.
1968 Jeep Wagoneer w/ 350 Buick and auto.
1985 Chevy El Camino w/anemic 305-4v.

Somewhere between the Galaxy and the RZ I owned a '76 Honda XL250 and was riding a '76 Yamaha DT250 (both enduro bikes) when I ordered the RZ.

I didn't include the two cars the ex- and I bought because they were her POS's. [:D]

First car I drove was a driver's ed POS chevy.  Reliably and sensibly underpowered. It would have been a 1984 I think.

Then I drove the 1978 ForD LTD Country Squire station wagon, pale yellow color exterior, medium brown vinyl interior. Was destroyed when my sister took a corner wrong and ran it into the corner of a largish stone wall.

Next vehicle I drove was a 1978 Jeep Wagoneer with a chunky 318 8 cylinder.  That sucker had usable power.  My first accident was a few weeks after I got my license.  I was adjusting in a tight parking space and caught the passenger side door of the car next to me.  I then proceeded to panick, stomped on the gas instead of the brake, and instead of producing a tiny short dent in the door panel, dug the front bumper into the side of the car door like a can opener and tore the thing open all the way through the rear turning signal (including the rear tire. There was no discernable damage to the jeep.

The insurance worked it out and I ended up getting along pretty well with the young woman who owned the car ;)

Next vehicle was a Chevy Chevette (early 80's model and who the heck cares about the date of a Chevette)

Next was a Datsun B210, standard shift, rotted out pretty quick.  (tried jacking it up to change a tire and the jack punched right through the jack point....oooops.

First car I actually bought...a 1986 Nissan 200SX hatcback.  I enjoyed that car, but beat it pretty much to death in 5 years.  I live in New England and a lightweight, rear-drive car is basically a powered sled in the winter.  The moonroof leaked pretty badly as well. Two accidents (1 when my cousin was borrowing the car (it got broadsided by a drunk and) and 1 when I was driving to work late one morning and was cut off by a woman turning across three lanes of traffic in front of me) did that car in by degrees.  I used the insurance money from the last accident to help finance my 1995 thru-hike.

I traded in the Nissan, barely operable and uninspectable, for $500.00 toward my current 1996 Subaru Legacy Outback SW.  I also have a 1996 Ford F150 Super cab 4x4 (technically my wife's car, but I'm the only one who drives it, the Subaru is her primary now.

1971 Ford Mustang, std coupe (not fast back) 302V8, 2bbl, c4 tranny, red & black with the false hood scoops.

Many a day was spent racing my friend's Coronet 440. He usually beat me, since the Chevy had the slightly larger motor.

The difference is, he trashed his 440, and I STILL HAVE MINE!!! WOoooWEEEE!!!

Needs work, but still runs fine.

The year was 1978 and Dad and I were looking for a first gen Monte Carlo. Well Dad said "why dont you consider the Olds. Cutlass, it will be a little less expensive than the Chevy due to popularity?"  So we found this 1971 Cutlass Supreme SX,  50K miles $1700.  We took a look under the hood and my dad says "hey this engine is the wrong color for a 350" (the seller was attempting to pawn it off as the smaller engine due to the big gas problems of the day). Dad figured out right away that this car had a 455.  WEll, we took it out for a spin (dad was driving naturally 'cause I'm barely 17) and the first time we leave a stoplight dad remarks "damn! I can hardly keep from spinning the tires!"  I'm thinking to myself "yeah!  I need this car!"  Dad has always been a big engine man so he made sure we got the car and man was this a fun car to drive.  It had #360 HP and 465lbsft of torque!
