I have $6000 open to buy on a furniture store credit card.
I don't plan on buying anything else anytime soon.  I opened the account because they had 0% interest on your purchase until it was paid off.

So my question is how would closing the account affect my credit rating? Positively or negatively?
thoughts?

I wouldn't worry about it.

Chances are if you don't use it enough to their liking, they are going to close it down anyway.

City Furniture closed my account because I didn't use it in about a year.
