Was perusing youtube vids of Gordie Howe and found this gem:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hE2L69wGMqE&feature=related

ESPN commercial with Gordie "explaining" old-time hockey to Olberman.

You guys will love it.

Now, serious question for the hockey fans here: Which player would you want on your team more: Gordie, Gretzky, Orr, Messier, or Lemieux?

Gordie did it all.

Shit. Rough crowd tonight.

I post the best sports commercial ever to air on television, with the added bonus of Keith Olberman getting peppered by a 70 year old man, and get five views. Not replies. Views.

Meh. Gordie Howe would kick all your asses.

I'd take Gordie on my team.  I'm a bit biased, though, because I was in high school with his son Murray

Didn't know Murray very well, though, I must confess.

Lemieux. I always wonder how it would have been without the Hodgkin's.

Well that's kinda the point. Gretzky was always criticized for being soft which is why he always had a McSorley type hanging around, Mario got teh AIDZ. None of those other guys really stack up comparatively, I'd take Brett Hull or Joe Sakic over Messier but that's just me.

Hands down it's Gordie. He did everything from set ups to fighting a level above.

I saw Gordie (and his sons) play many times when he was with the Aeros in Houston.  Pretty impressive player!

Met him at the cold war at MSU a few years ago. he still looked like he could kick some ass. Huge hands, they could really throttle you.

Bobby Orr FTMFW! Had his book "Orr on Ice" when I was a kid and playing hockey in the Greater Boston area. I think EVERYONE in that generation skated either for a team or on a pond! Love that commercial, even more now that Olberman has revealed his inner darkness. Thanks OP!

Got to skate with Gordie when I was 9. Had a pic of it in the local paper.

I want Terry O'Reilly and Marty McSorley on my team, we might not win but we'll kick ass!

I went to Epcot at Disney world a couple years ago.

At the Canada exihibit I asked the girl for Wayne Gretzkys autograph.

She looks up at me and says...

"Is he from canada?"

She was from canada

As far as your question, Gretzky for sure

I was growing up and getting into sports in the early to mid 70s, when the Flyers got their repeat on the Stanley Cup, and nearly made the hat trick. The first sports jersey I ever got was a Dave Schultz.

If not for the bad knees, he probably would have had the career by which all others are measured

Didn't Gordie Howe date Mrs. Krabapple back in the late 1980s?

I'd take Gordie any day of the week with my first pick.

My favorite player all time was Steve Yzerman, but even I have to admit Stevie could not have played in the 1970s. He just wasn't tough enough. Gordie could do it all!

I got to meet Darryl Sutter awhile back, he was watching his son Brett playing for the Checkers ( and scouting our team, bastard ).

But everyone knows what a Gordie Howe hat trick is.

1 Goal

1 Assist

1 Fight.

OK just watched the video. It's a double whammy of awesome: Gordie Howe, plus watching Olberdouche get figuratively pushed around...

No problemo. I thought it was pretty funny too.
